Search.Project.International.Cancellation.Engine {S.P.I.C.E}

High-Level Project Summary

The SPICE is an Advanced Search Engine that aims to make data management and searching much more efficient when it comes to data filtration.The problem of data access is imperative to address due to our dependence on it.Data access helps builds up innovation, data access is a base for all we do.We decided to address this issue with our solution the SPICE, which uses advanced data filtration techniques to make sure that the data you need is the data you get!It will be designed to use advanced AI and Keyword Searches to help you choose whatever you need. This can range across the type of data, the format of data, and general keywords. All we wanted to do didn't happen but we will work on it.

Detailed Project Description

Our Project Currently uses JavaScript to Fetch API data from The NASA Open API for Image and Video Library. It uses the keywords that it identifies in these images to filter out data based on user input. We would like to in the future use machine learning to identify the class, format and theme of these images. Our Project is able to address the problem of data efficiency by advancing filtration techniques. We hope to make sure that important scientific data is easy to access and is best suited to the user's needs and we've made that one of our driving goals while working on our project. The Project will eventually use AI to identify and filter out the type of data by comparing it to pretrained samples in models. We used P5.js to code this(In JavaScript)

Hackathon Journey

The NASA Space Apps Program was an enriching experience, we were able to learn so much, get access to data we dreamed of using and on-upped our skills in coding and innovating. We learnt the values of teamwork, responsibility and time management and learnt technically of API's and Extracting Data. This was our process: -

Firstly, we picked a challenge out of the plethora of challenges that challenge our innovation skills and provided feasible solutions. Secondly, we empathized with search engine users and identified the main problems with search engines being, inefficiency and lack of agility and speed. Thirdly, we came up with feasible solutions for the problems, for inefficiency, we added a filtration feature for lack of agility and speed we plan on linking it directly to NASA servers. Finally, we came up with a solution using advance technologies. During the course of the challenge, we struggled with using the API's but after experimenting with programs we finally fixed it.

All in All, we Loved Our Experience and Enjoyed Every Moment of the challenge, we would lIke to thank the host's for this wonderful initiative.
