short climate change documentary

High-Level Project Summary

Climate change and its threat to the entire globe, but especially to Egypt is the issue that we attempted to address with our project. Fossil fuel combustion produces greenhouse gases like CO2 and methane that act as a blanket around the globe, trapping heat from the sun and causing a rise in temperature. Through this documentary, we hope to make people understand more about this challenge and how it affects all people.

Detailed Project Description

Climate change and its threat to the entire globe, but especially to Egypt, is the issue that we attempted to address with our project. Due to burning fossil fuels and some industries. Fossil fuel combustion produces greenhouse gases like CO2 and methane that act as a blanket around the globe, trapping heat from the sun and causing a rise in temperature. This statement is more complex than simply raising the water level. This indicates that polar ice is melting as a result of climate change. Although there are many factors contributing to global warming, greenhouse gases are the most significant ones. Although many countries and nations are working to find a solution, the IPCC predicts that the globe will eventually warm by 1.5 degrees, with serious repercussions for the Middle East due to an increase in heat waves, aridity, drought conditions, and sea level rise.

Sharing information on this issue is the best option. Short YouTube videos now can change people's points of view on different topics and that is what we working to do by making a short documentary of around 3 min. In the documentary, we will share different people's opinions on the challenge from different social classes and different places in Egypt. Through this documentary, we hope to make people understand more about this challenge and how it affects all people. So we started to write the script and documentary idea first. Second, we started to think about shoots we can take and the places we can take shoots. Third, we worked in real life and took the shoots.

Our plan during the two of the Hackathon is trying to finish the documentary editing. By adjusting the video's colors, brightness, soundtrack, and other elements, we will make it more visually appealing.

Space Agency Data

We used one of NASA's resources called NASA climate change to learn more about climate change, such as the pace of temperature increase, the rate of CO2 in the atmosphere, and other factors, in order to better understand climate change.

Hackathon Journey

A large community of NASA space app members supports the abilities of members who participated in the NASA spa e apps hackathon due to monsters' assisting all teams in achieving their objectives as well as learning and gaining new abilities. That's what our team knew about NASA space apps. The Mstdym team began researching the challenge that approaches our goals. Climate change challenges have been chosen because all of the team members work in an organization called Mstdym, and that organization shares awareness about essential information about climate change, Cairo location was chosen by us after sending all the needed files and videos to the Cairo location. The team had to wait for about 5 days to know if they were accepted to participate in the Cairo location or not. I found someone to chat with a few days after sending the necessary files. I felt it was very hot. This is what I was feeling at that time. Then he informed our team do not to get accepted. We catch up after a few days. We chose Benha as our new location because there is no filtration phase, so the team has to put more work into the project. the day before the hackathon, we took all the photos and videos that we needed. The team discussed these videos with people of different ages and backgrounds. Two team members began editing the video yesterday (the first day of the hackathon). There were a lot of things in the application that the members did not know how to use, but the monsters and photographers helped us learn how to use the advanced features of the application.
