High-Level Project Summary
Through social networks (Facebook and Instagram) a net of knowledge about apiculture was developed and how climatic changes can affect bees. The information about humidity, temperature and rain fall was given to us by NASA satellites which allows us to generate conscience in high school students and also to help beekeepers to reduce the effects of climatic changes for example reduction in pollen production because this is one of the reasons why bees die. The net of knowledge is essential taking into account that science has warn us of doing something about it now or the effect would be catastrophic.

Detailed Project Description
Description
This project is oriented to generate aware of the care and protection of bees, by generating alerts for beekeepers about climate changes that affect them. NASA satellite data will be taken on humidity, temperature and rain fall, which can affect bee populations. Alerts of optimal climatic variables will be generated, which will be provided through social networks such as Facebook and Instagram, so that beekeepers and the community in general have easy access to this information. In addition, recommendations will be given on their care, optimal climatic levels for pollination processes, production of honey and its derivatives, as well as contributing to the generation of conservation strategies, taking into account that humidity (in excess) can affect the hives, which is more frequent in winter, in addition to the fact that these insects depend on solar radiation because they are exothermic, which can affect their ability to move and look for food.
The project will have a social impact by helping people understand the role of bees, their importance in pollination and biodiversity conservation, as well as the effects of climate change on them, based on the use of satellite data from NASA. Data and specialized studies on climate change, bees and their environmental requirements will be used.
Space Agency Data
Special Agency
The data will be obtained from NASA Power Data, this database works with satellite information such as humidity, temperature and rain fall based on the location coordinates of the place to be studied.
Visualizing the lack of interest and misinformation of the community in general, in addition to the few sources of information that beekeepers have for the care of bees, taking into account the problem of climate change.
Hackathon Journey
Incredible experience, Space App Challenge a real challenge that made us to give our best and realize all the potential we have, we acquired more knowledge and support from mentors with excellent disposition to have a better development of the activities to be carried out, giving more importance to factors that we did not know, we understood the relevance of the effects of climate change on beekeeping.
We chose this challenge because it is a global problem and there is not enough information to minimize the effects of this climatic phenomenon where a reliable information network will be provided to mitigate mortality in hives. We focus on the previously mentioned problems that beekeepers suffer when facing the variation of climatic phenomena to intervene in the protection of the hives.
All this has been a great challenge, working with others, working as a team, where patience, tolerance, responsibility, support and listening to each other were needed, we carry out this task, where we have become a great alliance.
Mainly to thank God who has allowed us to go so far, our teacher Adriana del Pilar Vega Pinzón, who has guided us through this arduous process where we have grown as people, students and researchers, teaching us the wonderful world of science, giving us all her potential, teachers Andrés Palacios and María del Carmen Arias, along with advisor Ximena Galindo. Our parents who always supported us and always pushed us to go far and other relatives and people who have given us a seed of wisdom and intelligence.
