High-Level Project Summary
Climate change is one of the problems that negatively affects the earth, the environment, creatures and people. We are “The Helix project” , our team made a short film about the effects of climate change, with the aim of awakening people and making them aware of its dangers. We made an impactful video to make people realize the outcome of our motive.By helping them realize the importance of climate change we can bring a change to our upcoming climate situation.

Detailed Project Description

Why did we choose to create a Cinematic Documentary Film?
According to the surveys, it was found that the number of people who liked to watch traditional documentaries were declining every year. The main reason was that the traditional documentaries did nothing except just spitting information. But we have found an innovative solution for this challenge. We got the idea to create the documentary film in a cinematic style about the topic “How Does Climate Change Affect You?”. There’s no doubt that education via entertainment is the best pedagogy. The main feature of our project is the way we deliver the information. We have planned to write our scripts in Layman’s terms so that people from any where in the world, of any age group can understand the seriousness of the threats that we are facing from climate change and encourage them to do their part in reducing the effects of this real-life threat. And this simple way of giving information is blended with high level of filming to give the audience a cinematic experience.
The software/sites that was used to develop this film were:
Adobe Premiere Pro (Editing)
Pexels (Stock Footage)
YouTube (Footage and Soundtracks)
Epidemic Sounds (Soundtrack)
The Hardware that we used was our laptop: Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 14ITL05
Challenges that we faced:
Most our team members are in high school or college. And we only have one film editor on the team. So, it was very challenging for us to structure and design the video in such a way that it could do what it is expected to do, which is to make people aware about climate change and it’s effects that they are facing in real life. Our team achieved all its members just 1 day before the hackathon started. And since then we were all busy researching and learning about the ways to deliver information so that it doesn’t seem boring. And after collecting enough information we moved on to recording and editing the video and doing the other stuff required (like making the presentation, video, etc.) And we are proud of ourselves for completing this project within time with utmost sincerity and efficiency. We have put in our 100% effort to solve this challenge. And now we only hope for the best.
Why is the video so short?
because our team was filled only one day before the hackathon started, it was really difficult for us to gather all the information to write the whole script and then record and edit it. Whatever we have built is just a glimpse of the solution of the challenge that we are addressing.
What we plan to achieve from this:
We plan to achieve engagement and distribution of knowledge to all those who are looking for it.
Though this video is very basic and short. Our future plans to create longer versions of this film and express the information with robust storytelling and editing.
Our idea is simple, but it promises the solution up to a whole other level. It is simple, sufficient, and scalable.
We live by our motto, "Achieving Bigger Goals with Simple Solutions".
Space Agency Data
We used NASA articles, videos and research to create the script and some sequences of the film.
Hackathon Journey

Experience in the NASA Space Application Challenge was one of the most interesting and wonderful experiences that we did this year.
Finding team members was a challenge for us but in the end we were able to find skilled and helpful people.
At the beginning of the hackathon, we started by focusing on the idea and what we want to present.
We started researching and writing the script for the video and focusing on ways to present the idea. Then we started working on the presentation.
One of the challenges we faced during the hackathon was communicating with team members, since we are from all over the world.
The time difference was an obstacle, but we were able to overcome it by setting times for meetings that we can all agree on .
We chose a challenge that contributes to spreading awareness of the problems facing the environment.
The challenge was related to the team's slogan in achieving great achievements with the simplest solutions .
Making a video about the environmental problem is a simple solution, but it could make a big difference.
The team spirit was high and full of positivity due to our love for challenges and our love for research and spreading awareness.
