Let’s Calm the climate! -ZAFA Climate Warriors-

High-Level Project Summary

Earth is suffering and our actions could be the cause or the cure! So to calm the climate; we searched how does the climate affect the world, Africa, morocco and specially our local communities. We learned about all the efforts made globally to reduce the phenomenon and the projects that was made in our country. With what we’ve learned from our intensive research and because a lot of people can’t feel the urge of protecting the planet yet, we came up with a solution that can help people our age in our community better visualize this universal problem and change their daily behaviors, that’s when we created an instagram account called “the climate warriors”

Detailed Project Description

First; we ran surveys and asked people from our environment about what they think of the climate change in morocco. Their answers were evolving around the fact that our generation doesn’t seem to care about climate change because it’s not something we visualise frequently in the world of internet.
Then, we researched information about the definition of climate change, How does it affect us starting from its impact on the world to our continent to specifically our country. We read through all the efforts and solutions that are made, and we realized how agencies like NASA are making serious progress and plans to save the planets (through all the stories and news and articles we’ve read)
This allowed us to create a short educational video, providing insightful facts on the matter that are quick, simple and truthful.
We’ve worked so hard on this project to not only educate people on climate change in our country, but to also learn how to take care of the earth ourselves and to better understand the world that we live in, and hopefully it would serve as an educational and inspirational piece of information to our generation.
As a solution that could impact our small circle, we’ve created an instagram page, to continue this educational journey about climate change and show people how they can help with simple tiny daily behaviors and habits that can help create a better tomorrow.

Hackathon Journey

We started by creating a notion workspace (where we listed all our tasks and assigned them to members that excel in a specific area) and a WhatsApp group where we can discuss topics and update team members of any progress we’ve made. We have also planned our detailed workflow by shifts on our synchronized Google agenda; If two team members are occupied or have to rest, the other two members are going to have the shift-ON and vice-versa. We’ve organized couple of meetings between the three stages of project (research, script, filmmaking & editing) to gather ideas and understand the point of view of each person. And this is how we successfully handled the Hackathon and managed to work on the project as a team.
