The project refers to the use of Earth Observation data and the enhancement of the available Applications with valuable and actionable insights . Our project develops an application which gathers, processes and analyzes Earth Observation data for the monitoring and forecasting of the Water Quality.Challenge Solving:1. Identified data quality issues - developed a data-processing program2. Developed a Water Quality Data Analysis program3, Developed Water Quality Index4, Timeseries Forecasting model developed5. Developed Interactive toolThe project is valuable since the Application is critical for environmental purposes and business-decision making with a "Green" approach and mindset.
"What exactly does it do? " AND "How does it work ?"
We have developed a program which retrieves Earth Observation data and provides valuable and actionable insights as well as prediction regarding the Water Quality.
A summary - roadmap of the project:
"What benefits does it have?" & "What do you hope to achieve? "
The Application gathers and analyzes individual Water attributes providing the bigger picture of the Water Conditions and Quality. The application offers Water Quality monitoring and forecasting capabilities providing actionable information to support Green decision-making across multiple industries: tourism, shipping, fishing, science, nonprofits etc. Thus, our inspiration is to industrialize our Solution to support the Water Quality monitoring, biodiversity maintaining action plans and Green decision-making enhancement.
"What tools, coding languages, hardware, or software did you use to develop your project?"
We got European Space Agency - Copernicus Earth Observation data regarding the Water Quality.
We used the data for:
How the data inspired the project:
Copernicus interface provides a global map and we realized that we should focus on Water Analysis, since the Water covers the 71% of the planet and plays a key role to the ecosystem and climate change. Starting exploring the data we realized that each attributes comes with some "data-quality" related issues and we decided to work on the data management providing actionable insights and predictions.

Numerous Earth visualization applications use available Earth Observation data to help us understand our planet, but some of these applications could be augmented to be even more useful. Your challenge is to select an existing NASA, Space Apps, or other open source Earth data visualization web application and improve it by incorporating one or more valuable data analysis features.
