Lithium-Sulfur Battery System For Venus

High-Level Project Summary

Our project covers energy needs while the exploration team is on the surface of Venus. We developed a battery made of lithium-sulfur to deliver energy to the surface lander or rover. This is especially important since finding life on other planets in our Solar System will be life-changing for the next generations. The challenge asks to maintain power for long-duration exploration missions.

Detailed Project Description

Our project helps the exploration team of Venus continue their missions without an energy breakout. Since the resource of the battery is lithium-sulfur, the energy supply is enough. For the illustration of the battery, we used Procreate to develop our project.

Space Agency Data

The data we used in this project are listed below;

High Energy, Long Cycle Life, and Extreme Temperature Lithium-Sulfur Battery for Venus Missions

-University of Dayton

Energy Storage Technologies for Future Planetary Science Missions

-NASA/Jet Propulsion Laboratory-Caltech

Hackathon Journey

Our Space Apps experience was great, the fact that there are explorations on Venus to be done in the future and the challenge being interesting inspired us to choose this category. We encountered some setbacks but discussing them thoroughly made us resolve them.
