Universal Power - Battery in the Universe

High-Level Project Summary

We created a hand-crafted probe as visual representation of our ideas. It is built from scratch, with many functional elements to demonstrate possibilities. The developed system uses updated battery discharge protection system, updated sensors and new type of shielding that will provide safe battery storage. Our idea is usage of a battery system that provides proper general probe functioning (all systems) even at low energy levels - previous existing systems use different techniques for battery protection in charging and discharging procedures. Detailed Project Description

We can explore Venus as if it was next to us.

It solves the problem of short life of planetary missions on Venus by providing secure

systems in obtaining solid knowledge.

The project has significant impact on the space exploration because we will learn about the solar system, and Venus.

Before takeoff - batteries shall be charged. On the way to Venus batteries will be supported via battery life support system that will constantly charge once the level drops below 93%. The systems shall not allow percentage to go below 93% or over 102% (to avoid potential damage during travel).

Once the probe arrives on Venus, all batteries except the primary to be sustained at 100% via a wind turbine mounted on top of the spacecraft to prevent battery damage. During that time the primary battery will constantly be discharged by all implemented systems towards 20%.

When it reaches 20%, all the energy from all other batteries will be equally distributed to the primary one, needing 3000 Venus hours to fully recharge. Now the other batteries are discharged at unknown percentage right now, because some may discharge faster or slower. This will be calculated by the onboard battery management systems. Now the wind turbines will be used at 100% potential to charge all the other batteries (for an unknown period, because again they charge faster or slower than others).

The cycle shall repeat for app. 2000 times throughout space probe lifespan.
