High-Level Project Summary
Our main goal on this project is to create smart and innovative objects for the astronaut to find userful in his everyday-life. We provided some objects that refer to 4 sections (tools and objects, workstation, fitness, rover). Specifically we created a pole that can be attached with a hammer or a shovel (that we also created). Moreover we created a table for workstation and can also be used for storage. In addition on the fitness section we created a bench, weights and dumbell. Lastly we created a wheel which for the missing wheel of the rover.

Detailed Project Description
As a group we decided not to develop basic 3d printings blueprints for every day items but we tried to find a way to make items with multiple use. For that specific reason, we started with the tool section and we designed a universal plastic handle that can be used for a variety of reason like tool handle, gym bar and dumbbell bar. Now for the tool heads that they attach to handles we did a shovel and half hammer half lath hammer using metal printer .In addition we create a portable lamp from plastic that can be used either inside the habitat and either outside by just taking apart from its base. Moreover we did a multipurpose table for medical, entertainment, eating, fixing and everyday use which it has places to install electrical outputs in 4 legs, storage in an convenient position and last some holes that leads down to the table using pipes in order to faster selection for some specific works like fixing electrical systems or recycle . For exercising we decided the best option for a Mars training is weight lifting and dumbbells because gravity is different from earth. So we manage to come up with a some weight plates and a bench using cement printer which it’s the “heavier one”. Last but to least we completed rover’s broken tire by calculating right arch and arch’s angle (14,27 cm and 32.7 degrees) in order to fit the limits of our metal printer which the material that we will use on this. So our tire consist 11 x 4 (11 to achieve tire scheme multiple by 4 in order to achieve the 40 cm width) same pieces connected with a screw system that located under the tire. For the wheel cover we made a plastic one consists of two pieces for every 1 piece of the 11 parts that assemble the tire .
Space Agency Data
We used data provied by Deep Space Habitability Design Guidelines Based on the NASA NextSTEP Phase 2 Ground Test Program.
We understood needs for space exploration and Mars requirements, and created means necessary for a human being to survive in Mars, in regulation with the limits.
Hackathon Journey
Every member of this team was truly a beginner not in hackathon but in an event like this. So our first experience was great. The most important thing is that we learned was how to be a part of sceince team and to contribute in this which is so important for our professional career. Our challenge preference was random. We selected the 3d print one because it consist 2 faces, an artistic and a engineer one. Our approach were to be part of that mission that went to mars with food water and 3d printers. That’s why we were able to solve fast certain problems. I think our most effiecient way of dealing with setback was teamwork because every little help from everyone on this team we manage to succeed. Last we would like help our organisation that make this challenge come true !
References
We created all 3D objects on our own. Softwares used were Blender and Autodesk Fusion 360. All of the products were our own ideas generated based on the guidelines by Deep Space Habitability Design Guidelines Based on the NASA NextSTEP Phase 2 Ground Test Program.
