High-Level Project Summary
For survival of mankind it is necessary to colonize our planets and expand our race beyond the solar system.So for the colonization of mars we need to first overcome the challenges that we will face in visiting the red planet. The second most challenge is to set up a base on mars. We can not carry lots of things directly made on earth So, 3D printing our tools becomes important.For the survival on mars we need to design our own tools and gadgets using 3D printers. So some of the tools we need to design can be like furniture bed, health toolkit, outer shield for base, wheels for our vehicles for transportation.So we designed some of the tools using software and many more.

Detailed Project Description
WHEEL BY SADIQ ALI: As we all know for the transportation system wheel, is a basic object that we need. So we designed a wheel for the transportation system that can be used on Mars by using Solid works Software. We did the static test simulation on the wheel which is made up of aluminum. From the simulations we came to know that it can withstand heavy weights and its structural properties will increase the vehicle performance in terms of speed.
BED AND TABLE BY HELENA
- it's a bed and a table;
- heavier objects make the braid adjust its form to then;
- tight braids, so nothing fall in;
- easy to set up and transport;
- inspired by Brazilian's net (rede)
CESAR: BED1 and tools
Space Agency Data
We have used the data from NASA in the structure of wheel that can be used in driving any vehicle or rover efficiently on mars.
The design properties of wheel are similar to the wheels used in Curiosity rover.
Hackathon Journey
SADIQ ALI: ''To be honest it was amazing to be the part of this global initiative. We have learnt about the team work, how the individual ideas from the team members sum up and produce a large , innovative and problem resolving solution. My approach in this project was the designing of the wheel in Solid works and performing various simulations on it like static, thermal and frequency tests. Me and my team were in touch regularly with each other through internet although we were from different continents. I would like to thank my team and NASA for this wonderful initiative, out of which we all have gained experience.
HELENA: It was amazing to be the part of the team and i would like to thank NASA and other partners of NASA for hosting such an amazing platform.
CESAR: It was amazing to be the part of this global initiative. We have learnt about the team work. I would like to thank NASA for hosting such an amazing platform.
