We develop an index that will show the impact of inovation events and programs in teenagers' lives. By getting datas about the teenagers that goes to these kind of programs we can see the impact and the importance of the open science since a young age and see in what parts we can improve to get more people in the community to acess and have more chances in the future.
THE OBJECTIVE: To measure the socio-economic impact of open science initiatives.
THE PROJECT: To set up a metric that measures the variation of professional performance, scientific production and innovation of the impacted individuals over time. IEI (impact education on innovation).
PARAMETERS:
APPLICATION: The IEI-Index numerically measures the impact of innovation events (hackathon) at different moments in the ex-participant's life in different areas in which acquired and/or fostered skills have applications.
Therefore, it has value and interest for the innovation ecosystem, for government entities and for the individual himself.
RECURRENCE: Data can be updated at any time by the user. The survey is designed to be carried out at each point of contact with the regional innovation ecosystem, which we will integrate to encourage this data collection.
INTEGRATIONS: Lattes; Regional Innovation Ecosystem.
We used some data that we thougth would help us so the H-index, the Qualis Capes Qualification and we need a new index that would come with our reserch for the main index - the IEI.
Progress report with experience acquitted at HackaTon Rieirão Preto-SP Brazil, 2022.
The HackaTon event, started on 09/30 to 10/02 in Ribeirão Preto-SP (Brazil), provided by Space Apps with NASA a great experience,
to complement and invite young people who are different from the rest of Brazilian society, which is of extreme relevance today, an event held
free of charge that reaches all classes, from classes, from A to D.
Our team formed by six members, Rosinete de Melo, Eder Veronezi, Sabrina Medeiros, Thiago Henrique Silva, João Paulo Ferreira Jr., and Bernardo Salata,
in which I write this progress report during the event on behalf of the Scibble Growth team. Our chosen challenge was "Measuring open science" for clear and objective reasons,
as once said by Dom Pedro II, ex-Emperor of Brazil "If I weren't Emperor, I would like to be a professor. I don't know a greater and nobler mission
than that of directing young intelligences and preparing men for the future." I quote this sentence because of the similarity of this challenge with the challenge of being a teacher and offering
our knowledge for the new generations, both by "sculpting" the character of the men of the future generation, and for the good and development of humanity as a whole.
So too, we believe that the organizers have the same intuition that we do with this project.
The group's project is based on the challenge of measuring the socio-economic impact of open science, through a web platform, individuals who have
by programs such as HACKATON and other events based on the implementation of challenges for people determined to contribute to the research and technological advances of the
humanity and the increase of the individual's experience in these areas do not always show improvement for the organizers of these events.
This is where the group project comes in. An index composed of four sub-indices will be made within the public limits of databases of that person's performance in the
Which are they:
-Approval of entrance exam
- Academic production of articles
-Professional development in the labor market
-Creation of innovative startups in the market.
Today, this data is already available through the H-INDEX index, in which the program aims to compress all this index data into a square mean.
Thus, the integral follow-up of contact with the volunteer through questionnaires made at these events and through forms that can be answered via E-mail. all
this process will be carried out automatically, without the need for employees to work for the system to stay alive.
We are grateful to Space Apps, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration of the United States of America (NASA).
We would also like to thank the judges and the team that attended to us with extreme attention and helped us in difficult moments.
Our most sincere thanks.

Across the world, scientists are moving to make research and results available to all, but to evaluate research activities practicing open science, we need to measure the relevance and impact of the research to society. Your challenge is to create a new metric to evaluate the effectiveness of open science activities such as sharing of data, software, tools, and results.
