Awards & Nominations

Moon invaders has received the following awards and nominations. Way to go!

Global Nominee

NASA SpaceApps MoonQuake Map

High-Level Project Summary

our project is to be like a source to collect more data about the moon, which would help us more to understand the nature of our moon, the type of information which we have approached in the application is the seismic data of the moon which shows the moonquakes which occur on the moon, not that only but also the application shows the type of the moonquake whether it is shallow or deep, also we could know from the data the magnitude and deep of these moonquakes. the development here is that instead of being these data received as a given text from Apollo machines left on the moon, we made an application which shows these data clearly with a very exciting experience for the user

Detailed Project Description

the interface of the application starts with a free move in a space 3d background which gives a very good start for the user, then there are data plotted on the moon, these data are about moonquakes that occur on the moon, and they are detailed as there are some circles with different colors and sizes if we talked about shallow quakes then by increasing the size and intensity of the color the magnitude increase, on the other hand when the size and intensity of red circles increase that means that the depth of these quakes increases. all of these were done by Javascript language on visual studio, the logo was done on illustrator, and all of these plotted data is from NASA space agency. the benefits of this application and data are, providing more knowledge for users in a simple way, and collecting more information about the moon, which could help many users in projects or even understand moonquakes overall. we as a team hope to develop this app to include more data, so it could be more useful for users. to build this project, we used some tools for coding the used language Javascript, and for designing the used application adobe illustrator.

Space Agency Data

the data we used about moonquakes were from the NASA space agency, which was very useful for us because it is a trusted source. these data were plotted on the moon globe in our application in detail as magnitude and depth.

Hackathon Journey

we have learned that the meaning of winning is not only by getting first place, but we could win in very different ways such as getting experience, sharing ideas, and cooperating Simply, NASA allowed us to learn a lot only by being there. We choose the challenge because it is different and somehow special as it is not just a problem and its solution but is way more than that it is like a source that we hope is useful for its users and guides them when they need help. we developed our project by giving good care to the programming proficiency and graphic, not only that but also it was very important for us to get trusted data and to plot details in the project. We also expected to be more creative in this challenge. By helping each other, discussing our opinions, doing meetings daily, and dedicating time of our day to talk and share, and also learn from each other. we would like to thank all people who organized these two days because we were very happy to join such a different experience like this
