To Infinity and Beyond

High-Level Project Summary

Nimbus, Latin for “rain cloud,” revolutionized how we study Earth’s weather systems, environment, and atmosphere. Seven Nimbus satellites, launched in 1964, observed the Earth for 30 years. The Nimbus satellites provided some of the first consistently global measurements of oceanic plant life and the ozone layer, as well as the first images of hurricanes taken from space, improved long-term weather forecasts, demonstrated search-and-rescue technology, and provided the first images of hurricanes taken from space. NASA's first experiment to see if satellites could be useful for Earth science was the TIROS Program. Satellite observations' efficacy was still a mystery at the time.

Detailed Project Description

This project is related to earth observing satellites and missions launched by NASA. In this multimedia depiction, we talk about only a fraction of what NASA has accomplished over the years. There was a variety of data to choose from including NIMBUS, TIROS-1, ECO-STRESS, TSIS-1, OCO-3, GEDI, GOES, and POES. we used simple data from different websites to make this project.

Space Agency Data

we used the data specifically from the NASA website and the wikipedia website.

Hackathon Journey

The journey to explore the space with this NASA activity is truly amazing. By working on the various aspects, we learnt a lot from the very basic to the project specific data. NASA has been doing wonders and by providing this opportunity has introduced a whole new world of knowledge and exploration, even the sky is not the limit here... We felt travelling interstellar and explored the new dimensions. feeling like NASA is a planet of our solar system and we have landed on it for the MISSION EXPLORATION but not at all feeling like an alien there.
