Parker Solar Probe: Science behind the Sun

High-Level Project Summary

We are amazed by what a little amount of people in our environment knows anything about "Parker solar probe". To solve that, we created a mobile app to make information about "Parker" available and understandable even to the youngests of space science interested children.

Detailed Project Description

Our app, "Storyteller:Parker" is an easy to use phone appliation made for all ages. It tells the story of the Parker solar probe, the first ever human-made mechanism to "touch" the upper solar atmosphere and collect data about the particles of the solar energy. The app is easy to use and is eligible even for children that are interested in space science and the history of discoveries about sun. The main benefit of our method in achieveing the goal of teaching the youngsters about "Parker" is in it's virtual nature and accesability to everyone through any mobile device. Other than that, an explanation of terminologies used in the app will help increase the vocabulary of the users, and the pictures will lead to easier understanding of the text. To achieve this result we used "Thunkable", the website that makes it easier to create mobile applications even to those not knowledgeable in coding.

Space Agency Data

We used Wikipedia and NASA's blog to made Storyteller about it.We used NASA's YouTube to have little big concept. That will be storyteller that told young auditorium.

Hackathon Journey

We did not know anything about Parker Solar Probe when we were choosing a challenge for our project. We were members of the Atyrau BIL Times club and we were very interested in this project, which told about the journey of Parker Solar Probe. This is how we chose the On the Way to the Sun Challenge, and soon later we got excited about Parker Solar Probe's amazing story and searched about this journey.Since then, we leaned a lot about the journey by reading NASA's web pages and relevant Wikipedia pages and watching various YouTube videos, thanks to this, we have increased our horizons and learned about the sun.We would have never learned about these if we did not work on this challenge. it was a lot of fun working on Thinkable and creating storyteller about the Journey to Understand the Sun.

We made storyteller about Parker Solar Probe- that was very interesting stage of our project. We did this project and used 'Thunkable' to develop our app.
