PARKER SOLAR

High-Level Project Summary

Parker Solar is consolidated as an app proposal both in Spanish and English, and it's intended to open space to all people interested in gamification processes, especially focused on the population of children and adolescents in English and Spanish-speaking social contexts. The Parker Solar app is important as a didactic learning tool that seeks to incorporate the participation of children and adolescents by influencing the way they see the sun and science. It is important to remember that our purpose is not only to encourage but to reach an inclusion that will be maintained through auditory interactions with the story and Reading questions.- When you enter figma, click on the letter Z-

Detailed Project Description

We are a group of students from the UPTC (Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia, Sogamoso branch) from different university programs, passionate about the design and development of digital projects such as websites and mobile applications. We are interested in disseminating to the community in general about the scope of the project called "Parker Solar Probe", which was previously and carefully planned to be carried out; we seek to encourage and inspire the public to obtain an increase in interest and thus motivate curiosity towards space with the desire to discover our cosmos.

Our path to reach the definition of "Parker Solar" was given through an interest in the sun and curiosity about how a spaceship has remained so long in space with extreme temperatures, having as its main point the desire to create an impact on society, thus defining its dynamism through the realization of wireframes that brought us closer to the main idea of what we planned and thus to capture the narrative and style that would lead the story.

It is an information system designed from the resources provided by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), making use of the necessary knowledge to provide an excellent UX (user experience) providing technical, scientific, and historical information about the space probe "Parker Solar Probe" whose main objective is to get as close as possible to the sun to study it.

It is a prototype with projection to be eventually launched in a multiplatform format for Android, IOS and HarmonyOS developed through a vector graphics editor and a prototype generation tool, which allows the design of screens with interactions from scratch, providing the possibility to visualize the final product before moving to the production stage.

The main functionality of the "Parker Solar" app is to narrate the history of the space probe "Parker Solar Probe", from its creation to its travels shortly, then move on to the game section, in which several questions are asked about different important data of the flights made by the probe to reinforce the knowledge acquired by the user previously, through a mental exercise.

The developed prototype has several benefits, such as the following:

In case the user has reduced vision or some visual impairment, in the app, there is an icon, which will be clickable and this will launch the option where

The user will be able to listen to the text that is on the screen at that moment, thus also including the population that has some difficulty reading the text.

It explains the story in a didactic and fun way, to keep the user's attention simply, so that young people can understand it, as it can be seen:

Encourage young people to investigate space through reading, knowing that this is so interesting and awakens the investigative spirit, the interest in wanting to know more about the subject, also in this way we can create young researchers on issues related to space, additionally there are motivating phrases aimed at all those girls who want to become scientists or astronomers.

This project not only is focused on telling the story but also has a space in which you can read about the curious facts, components of the Parker Solar, and some of the discoveries that were made throughout his travels so that young people have more information and become more interested in space:

The prototype is in English and Spanish, so that it has a scope for Spanish speakers and all those who handle the universal language that is English, also so that more young people can learn about space and Parker Solar, and also awaken their interest to investigate from an early age:

Space Agency Data

The data provided by Nasa about the Parker Solar Probe were used, as they provide valuable information about the probe from the idea of its creation to what could happen in the future.

This information was used in the game to tell the most important facts about its history, talk about some of the components of the Parker Solar Probe, tell about the most curious facts about the probe, and explain some of the discoveries made by the Parker Solar Probe during its travels.

Hackathon Journey

We studied and learned about the trips made by the Parker Solar Probe, we also learned to work as a team and to trust the skills that each member of the group has, and we learned how interesting it can be to participate in each of these challenges since it is our first time participating in a hackathon, It was an unforgettable experience, and we have learned more about the topics of space, and this gives rise to continue reading and researching about these ideas, also in the future create applications that other people know and investigate more about these interesting content and to achieve an impact on people. Additionally, we learned how to use the design and prototyping tool Figma and how to develop an application whose objective is to awaken the interest of the population.
