Parker Probe Story through a website

High-Level Project Summary

The project aims to visually tell the parker probe's story and its achievements through a website. Although the project isn't complete, it gives the basic idea of how it tells the story. We were planning to add 3D models of the probe and space itself using three.js, but due to the time constraints, we couldn't include it.

Detailed Project Description

Our project aims to tell the story of Parker Probe visually through a website. Users have to scroll to the bottom of the website to read and see the visuals which narrate the story of Parker Probe.

It describes how the Parker Probe survived through space overcoming obstacles and shows the features of the Probe.

The details of the developers can be found in the "about us" page in the navigation bar located in the top-right corner.

Space Agency Data

We used data from the NASA links provided in the challenge menu.

We thoroughly read the articles and used the data present in them to build our solution to this challenge that we chose.

Hackathon Journey

We had an amazing experience while building this project! We learnt and experienced how to work in a team, some concepts of Reactjs, and time management. While i came up with the idea of story telling through a website where the user scrolls to the bottom, given that my team has knowledge in Web Development, we decided to choose this very challenge.


Our team did face setbacks, my other teammate didn't have sufficient knowledge about some topics, so we had to pause the project building and start learning. We encountered some bugs, which we fixed.


I'd like to thank my parents for letting me stay up late at night to work on this solution.

On the Way to the Sun

On April 28, 2021, during its eighth flyby of the Sun, Parker Solar Probe did what no other human-made object has ever done: it “touched” the Sun—meaning the spacecraft flew through the Sun’s upper atmosphere (the corona) and sampled particles and magnetic fields there. Your challenge is to develop a creative way to tell young audiences the inspiring story of Parker’s record-breaking journey from Earth to the Sun and all the perils it overcame on the way.
