Detailed Project Description
HeliosHifi is a 6-page interactive web application which illustrates the story of parker solar probe in various ways
Once the web application is launched it is prompted with the homepage, it contains a mini-article about the solar probe which will enlighten the user about the record breaking history.
3D illustration give the user a360 degrees view of the Parker solar probe touching the sun
Virtual reality give the user a Real-time experience of the user in space, viewing the 8th perihelion revolution. The models are rendered and exported using blender 3.
The timeline gives a timed roadmap of all the milestones that took place during the history.
The highlighted part of our application is the Parker story, which is an accessibility mode in which the story is illustrated using test boxes, videos, animations and voiceovers
About Us page gives a description of the Developers
A highly interactive web application, Helios Hifi. It is developed using various tools
- HTML/ CSS
- JavaScript
- Three.js
- Blender
The application is developed in such a manner that the pre processing time is reduced. Although it is a 6 page application, the overlays of the data changes and yet the background remains the same. This reduces the data required to process the website.
Space Agency Data
We utilized multiple space agency data, we embedded a few in our application.
Most of the data we used were done after certain processing.
Hackathon Journey
This Space Apps Challenge was a good learning opportunity, acknowledging us with the spectacular journey of the parker solar probe.
In fact, the space craft's achievement was so fascinating it enthralled us to undertake this challenge.
Our approach to developing this project was aimed to create an interactive framework through which the users can understand and realize the perils and hard work that was put forth to launch the parker solar probe.
The key features of our web application include an illustrative story mode, game, 360° rotating 3D and VR model of the solar probe.
When our team faced some difficulty in exporting the 3D and VR model of the probe from Blender, we reached out to our seniors, we had a series of discussions and experimented, exploring through some YouTube videos after which we got the job done successfully.
We also faced some issues in embedding text-to-speech modules, the voice was found to be monotonous, with fewer pitch variations and complex accents, and we resolved by embedding voiceovers.
Jumping through the hurdles, we did successfully create our web application, but our presentation skills didn't turn out to be very impressive, we worked on it by having adequate demo sessions and took each and every obstacle as a chance to improve ourselves, and stived our best towards betterment.
Last but not the least, we would like to thank our educational institution for providing us with all the resources required
