On the way to the sun

High-Level Project Summary

Our project aimed to gamify the information tramission process about the journey made by the Parker Solar Probe, thus making the learning process of the young audiences fun and interactive. We developed a game that intermediates between storytelling and quiz, so that the player can learn while challenging his knowlegde about the theme. We hope to insert more visual resources into the project in the future and spread it t to the community with the help of the content creators of the internet, and school teachers that want to teach about the probe in a different way.

Detailed Project Description

The project is a quiz game that also contains sessions of storytelling. By answering the questions, the player reaches other parts of the story, where we present the mission, the challenges and the discoveries of the Parker Solar Probe. It has the benefits of being fun and interactive while also providing knowledge to the user. We hope that it will become a new way to talk about the achievement of the Parker Solar Probe mission and to help this achievements to become as well known as the moonlanding that occurred in 1969;

To make the prototype of the game, we used the following tecnologies:

Hackathon Journey

It was very though and stressful. But at the same time it was a great experience. The teams as a whole was able to contribute with each individual skills. We learned the limitations of our ideas with the mentours and could mature it, even though the short time limited what we could do.

We resolved our challenges by working together, divinding work and thinking in collective on strategies to overcome them, also, we were all the time respectful to what each other thinked, so everyone was free to talk their ideias.

Our approach was to first discuss the themes based on the teams abilities and after agreeing with an appropriate challenge to our skills, we then take time to think about solutions. Later we take the help of the mentors to validate our solutions and with their insights we tryed to mature our plan, repeating this process again.

Later, as time begin to short, we focused on implementing the best we could and ´present it with some people so that they could give us feedback, even though because of the time, we wouldnt be able to correct it inside the hackathon.
