High-Level Project Summary

We chose ’On The Way to the Sun’ project in order to help kids learn while they are having fun. Our challenge wants us to create a way for telling Parkers long sun journey. But why did we choose this project? We aimed maximum learning while kids enjoy their time. That's why we have created a game named sun puzzle. The game has 8 rooms and they all have their own tasks and models.

Detailed Project Description

Our sun puzzle game creates a new learning path for young learners. We combine 3 things in this game. Learning with experiencing, making observations and listening our room based podcasts in order to finish the game. It can be used both as a game and as a course material in schools. Our game has 8 rooms and each room has it's own concept. Our room concepts are

1- sunbox

2- a general look to parker probe

3- the solar wind

4- faraday Cage

5- Venus

6- zigzag

7- auroras

8- dust wind

In each room we have created podcasts for players. Our podcasts contains room concepts information and it also includes some funny games in it( like riddles, labirent hand etc.) Each player will reach podcasts through our Internet Web site. We linked all of them without making any levelling in order to keep our information secret. While listening to the podcasts, players will have the opportunity to see the models of the planets and parker probe, with also experiencing little experiments in rooms. With all these, in some rooms player will face with some challenges like Solar wind, dust and miscommunication. This will give the opportunity to feel the atmosphere of parker that stays in. When all these steps are completed well done! You've come to the end of Parker's journey so far. Finally we ask you to pick up and plant the seed we put at the end of the game for you. Because as Parker gets closer to the sun we also get closer to our hand-made ends.

We only used NASAs resources for this project. We used the information that we took from NASA in our podcasts. These podcast created our projects milestones.

Hackathon Journey

Briefly it was a wonderful but also tiring experience for us. First of all we had learned how to race in a hackathon. It was a very different experience because we had never participated in a hackathon program at all. Except this ,we had learned how to manage time correctly in a limited time. We choosed this challenge bescuse we wanted to inspire young generate about space. With developing this project we aim to create an enjoyable learning platform where all people can easily access through our website. We were able to easily overcome the obstacles that came to our way. Because we prepared ourselves for any obstacle that we could have faced during hackathon. We focused on the solution instead of the problem that we faced
