Capacity building is known to develop and strengthen skills, ability ,processes and resources that organizations and communities need to adapt and survive in this fast changing world.

Therfore, this challenge given is to educate individuals from different disciplines on how to manage environmental resources. Several professional practices endanger our environment and causes harm to the globe as a whole, in numerous ways. Refining these processes can improve Earth sustainability and improve our overall

well-being. Earth Observation is often overlooked when professionals are handling

their day-to-day activities, and if these observations are constantly overlooked it

Poses a great risk to the lives around us and to Earth as a whole.

Below are the key disciplines that we have chosen to lay emphasis on:

FARMING

Farming is the act or process of working the ground, planting seeds,and growing

edible plants, you can also describe raising animals for milk or meat as farming,

The usefulness of the farming\agricultural sector can never be over-emphasized.

Agriculture is the world’s largest industry. It employs more than one billion people

and generates over $1trillion dollars worth of food annually. Pasture and cropland

occupy around 50% of the earth’s habitable land and provide habitat and food for a

multitude of species.

They are certain practices that these farmers indulge in that causes great harm

to the Earth and affects the lives of humans negatively.

Agricultural expansion is a major driver of deforestation and other ecological

destruction, decimating habitats and biodiversity.

Agriculture operations provide unique opportunities to converse biodiversity, they

also threaten wild species and spaces. From habitat loss to pollution, agriculture

contributes to many of the environmental challenges.

Some of these practices that causes major harm on earth are:

DEFORESTATION

This is the action of clearing wide areas of vegetation .It is the permanent removal of trees to make room for something besides forest .

WHY DO FARMERS INDULGE IN DEFORESTATION?

Farmers indulge in this act for the use of such lands for another purpose, mostly for the use of farming or livestock, or using the timber for fuel, construction or manufacturing purposes.

                             WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF DEFORESTATION?

1. )INCREASES THE RATE OF FLOODING: when it rains tress absorbs and stores a large amount of water with the help of their roots

2. WILDLIFE EXTINCTION & HABITAT LOSS: Due to the massive felling down of trees, various animals species are lost

3. SOIL EROSION: trees are also crucial for our local water cycles as they keep on returning water vapor to the atmosphere

4. INCREASE IN GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS: Forests help to mitigate carbon dioxide and other toxic greenhouse gas emissions.

5. INCREASE IN GLOBAL WARMING: Trees play a major role in controlling global warming.The trees utilize greenhouse gases, restoring the balance in the atmosphere

AFFORESTATION AND REFORESTATION

Land skinned of its trees cover for urban settlements should be urged to plant trees in the vacinity and replace the cut trees.Also, the cutting must be replaced by the planting young trees to replace old trees. FARMERS SHOULD INCULCATE THE HABIT OF RE-PLANTING A TREE AFTER CUTTING DOWN A TREE

                                                AIR POLLUTION

Agricultural air pollution comes mainly in the form of ammonia, which enters the air

as a gas from heavily fertilized fields and livestock waste. Pesticide,fertilizers and

other toxic farm chemicals can poison fresh water,marine ecosystems, air and soil.

                           HOW DOES AIR POLLUTION AFFECT THE EARTH?

Emissions of pollutants into the air can result in changes to the climate. Ozone in the

atmosphere warms the climate , while different components of particulate matter

can have either warming or cooling effects on the climate.

Air pollution affects all things. It is harmful to our health, and it impacts the

environment by reducing visibility and blocking sunlight, causing acid rain, and

harming forests, wildlife, and agriculture.

Proper soil management through boosting crop diversity, crop rotation, regenerative agriculture(soil health and biodiversity focused agricultural practices), and reducing tillage helps maintain soil health and reduce the amount of ammonia emitting chemical fertilizers entering the atmosphere

                                    WASTE MANAGEMENT WORKERS

These are the workers in the field of waste management that are responsible for the general disposal of our waste. they are certain methods in which these waste are handled that affects the lives of humans around us and the Earth as a whole. Some of these practices are: bush burning, improper placement of used batteries, air pollution.

                                   HOW DOES THESE AFFECT THE EARTH?

It affects it through poor waste management, it contributes to climate change and air pollution, and directly affects many ecosystems and species.

CAPACITY BUILDING(SOLUTION) TO WATE MANAGEMENT

Waste workers should carefully arrange waste products in order to properly treat batteries and other complicated waste apart from others.
