High-Level Project Summary
Nowadays, many young people between 12 and 17 years of age are immersed in a world in which the basic sciences seem too confusing for them, due to the subjects to be studied. And in this way, they think that they should put aside their learning and the desire to know the world on these scales. At the same time, many young people have low reading habits and prefer pictures instead of words or letters. This project seeks to implement the use of DC comics and movies of the superhero Flash with flashy and funny dialogues to explain in a simpler and didactic way the existence of a space-time vortex, an idea of the theory of relativity. We created the blog "STEAM iN THE COMICS" to unite world.

Detailed Project Description
In the youth it has been seen that the themes that are correlated with the sciences are less
selected as a career or subject of study, for this reason, we seek to implement this project
with the aim of learning in a more playful and didactic way, the STEAM. We decided to
create a website to explain with one of the most successful fine arts in recent years; comics,
the relationship they have with the themes of science and establish that not only the study is
a concern, if not something that we can visualize in everything we see beyond the comics
and decrease the fear of STEM becoming STEAM. (since a problem in young people is the
lack of reading in their daily lives, preferring a more dynamic illustrated text).
To do this we create a blog page on Wix that shows fragments about the superhero flash
with what gives us the DC comics and explain what is scientifically with the knowledge of the
skills of this superhero relating them to a NASA research entitled "NASA announces results
of a great experiment on space-time", thanks to this page seeks that young people see how
fun and great that can be the sciences through creativity.
Is it really possible that Flash can stop a bullet with his hand?

It's all based on Einstein's theory of relativity that joins with Galileo's theory of relative motion
that explains that the bullet goes at a speed with which Flash goes in space-time, that is to
say, for him the bullet is static.
Can Flash travel in time?

Yes, it is simply the movement of objects following the curved lines of that depression of
space-time. For this we can compare it to the "grandfather paradox" which states that every
change that the time traveler makes in the past there will be consequences.
Is it possible to walk on water?

Yes, because when he moves at a high speed, the water molecules move and this makes
the resistance of the water higher. Flash runs so fast that his feet just skim the water, like
some animals do.
Is Flash a ghost?

He is not a ghost, he only takes into account the "theory of relativity" which states that "when
a body travels at the speed of light its dimensions change so that when it returns to an initial
speed it returns to its natural shape, as long as the body resists that speed" (hence the
composition of his suit).

With this research we are guided for the investigation of superheroes with reference to comics and we are guided to take into account the creation of artwork for young people between 12-17 years old to upload their creations and keep in mind that everything they do is STEAM.
Hackathon Journey
The term "STEAM" is a little unknown for different generations, especially for the younger ones, for example, it was unknown that it had to do with different disciplines and their relationship with art. STEAM caught our attention since this term is hardly known, and what better to take it into account with young people between 12-17 years old. The initiative presented by NASA with the challenge: "Turning STEM into STEAM" opened the doors to show us that science is not only found in space, but also in comics, books, paintings, literature and even in engineering subjects. From the moment we discovered all the resources that NASA gave us, we decided to learn more about how STEAM helped space suits, to reduce combustion in space missions, among other curious things. The inspiration was clearly left by the variability of application that STEAM has, which is not exclusive to the sciences, but is also very relevant in diverse situations that we live in our daily life. Our approach is based on a qualitative method, where through the perception of art we can give new interpretations to different phenomena generated in space. As a team throughout the participation we had complications, but we are characterized by maintaining good communication, active listening to the difficulties and highlighting values such as respect, kindness, solidarity, leadership and motivation, we were able to achieve all the objectives. Another aspect that was taken into account was the "pomodoro" technique in order to work with more energy and rest the necessary time to prevent mental fatigue. We thank NASA for the opportunity they gave us this year, for the different and innovative topics they presented. Thanks to our mentors who were present in the process of learning and gathering information, likewise we thank the sciences that make the world is at the forefront and unveil many secrets of the universe and its mysteries. Thanks to our families, friends and ourselves because the support and their greetings have been of great help in this research process.
