Sky Objects Finder and Tracker with Embedded Systems for Observational Astronomy Studies

Detailed Project Description

Currently, the Space Industry is entering a new era of “New Space Economy”. This

improvement provides more options for investors to participate in the business. It motivates the

general public to recognize the relevance of future space activities such as ground space exploration

which have a total investment of 19% of the space industry overall expenditure. Using telescopes

to survey and examine deep astronomical objects is also an option. It has piqued the interest of both

professional and amateur astronomers in recent years. On the other hand, the growth of astronomy

education in ASEAN countries has received insufficient attention because from the general public

point of view, Astronomical equipment is expensive and difficult to use because it is a science that

requires a wide range of expertise. For these reasons, the budget in this sector does not receive the

support it deserves. Therefore, the authors design a system of star finder with Autodesk Fusion 360

program based on the principle of celestial sphere astronomy and mechanical arm systems ordered

through the board Node MCU and connecting smartphone Bluetooth by Board HC-05. The results

were measured by testing with sample celestial bodies at each magnification 5 times. It was found

that at a magnification of 12.5x, it was 94% effective in finding sky objects, close to 50x magnification,

which is accurate. at 90%. The transmission speed was 589.5 milliseconds, it has similar accuracy

at a lower cost.s
