High-Level Project Summary
We developed a game to try and reach out to a younger audience about the challenges and problems that are coming from the MRD. We hope that in reaching out to a younger audience that it will help solve the issue by bringing an awareness to it and starting the spark in people who will end up being able to carry out some of the solutions. this situation is important because of the amount of land louisiana loses to the delta will over time build up into a problem for the people, ecosystems, and habitats of the area.

Detailed Project Description
Our project serves as a way to learn and be educated on the Mississippi river delta floodings affects people and things. The game is educational and it is a more fun way to learn than traditionally. It is more appealing to play a game and learn than to read a long article about the topic. Delta Rush benefits people because they can learn about a important topic that they wouldn't of known about before. To make this game we used Google Sites to make our website, BeepBox to make the music and Scratch to make the game.
Space Agency Data
We looked at the data and we saw that in one of the river basins the water was rising and in another one the water was lowering over time. We found that every 100 minutes a football field disappeared. This inspired our project which led us to make Delta Rush. When the water rises in these river basins it increases the amount of sediment in the deltas. Both of these led us to make a game based on the mississippi river deltas flooding with water and sediment.
Hackathon Journey
We learned a lot about leadership, about teamwork, about perseverance, and about importation. We were inspired to do the Take Flight challenge by our past research and interest in weather. We had many setbacks throughout our project and this is why I put leadership as something that we learned. Whether it be teammates wanting to give up on the project or websites not working or us finding mistakes towards the end there were many times somebody would have to step up and inspire everybody not to give up. We would like to think Randi Neff for all the help with our project and all the resources she provided us with.
