a journey into the cosmos

High-Level Project Summary

As we are talking about the nasa’s james web telescope we are concerned about the magnifying of space as it’s the largest most powerful and most complex space science telescope so the game we developed is working like in infinite painting inside each other and your objective is to find certain objects in the material which resembles and shows the amazing capabilities of this telescope also giving you a never-ending experience of space knowledge by getting exposed to different space objects where you can learn about the particles of material to the minute details while enjoying your time in our search and chill game We can also manipulate all of that data into a VR environment which will give

Detailed Project Description

the idea we had was to develop a game where it is separated into 2 modes the intro mode and play for the intro mode we designed a 3d model for the james webb telescope where we were acknowledging every part of it and explaining the capabilities then immerse all of that by having it in a VR format to get you a better experience to understand it then for the play mode it was a game where you zoom into certain objects that were taken by the james webb telescope try to zoom into them and find a certain subject in it like an infinite zoom for you to search and have a better understanding for that thing all of that assigned with a voice-over to guide you through the game and make you learn about the object and we did all of that using the unity workspace where we scripted the game and did the designs for the 3d models we used solid works to create the module and we tried to use the game it was working fine we want to achieve scientific assistance to the people interested in learning about space and specially the james webb telescope

Space Agency Data

We used information and footage from NASA and JWST's websites.

Hackathon Journey

It was an exhilarating experience. We approached the problem by thinking of the problems we faced while looking for information on space-rekated stuff, and thought of creating a VR game with unity game engine. We chose this challenge as we thought that it was the problem we can relate to the most. We spent 31 hours fixing bugs, looking for auitablw assets, asking for user feedback throughout the way, recording audio, and fixing more bugs.

References

We used information from NASA and JWST's websites, and used a free 3d model made by the sketchfab team from their website and it was authorized for free use.
