James Webb Telescope Quiz App

High-Level Project Summary

Our team developed a quiz app about the James Webb Space Telescope. Users are allowed to answer multiple choice question to test their knowledge and receive a star badge at the end. We decided to do a quiz app because it is simple to navigate around, interactive, and enjoyable. It is important that we learn about the James Webb Space Telescope especially the newer generation, because they need to be inspired of what was created today, to be creators of tomorrow.

Detailed Project Description

Our team, designed and coded a quiz app to educate users about the James Webb Telescope in a fun and interactive way. The quiz was built using JavaScript in the code.org website. App Lab is a programming platform where we designed our apps, and share with others.

Here is a poster of the James Webb Telescope Quiz App. There is also a QR code where users can directly play on their mobile devices.

Space Agency Data

In our project, we used data from Canadian Space Agency. This provided the opportunity to research more about the telescope, the capabilities, and physical functions.

We used these data when creating the questions.

Hackathon Journey

During Space Apps, we learned a lot more than the basics about the James Webb Telescope. We learned about collaboration team work, and how to manage our time wisely.

Few weeks ago, we participated in a James Webb Telescope Trivia by Dunlap Institute, and it inspired us to continue to learn about the telescope and to create an app so that users can easily access from their fingertips.

We had limited coding experience, and time to finish our project, we tried to do as much as possible in the time frame given. Even though it was hard, we continued the journey and stayed positive. We thank our family for supporting us along the way by providing us accessible Wi-Fi and PC.
