We are a team of high schoolers who live, and are good at game making. We all are WOW-ed by capabilities of the James Webb Space Telescope. In addition to coding, we have 3D modeling skills with fusion 360. So using our diverse sets of skills and experience, this project builds interesting game connected with JWST in order to showcase its amazing design and satisfying.

Detailed Project Description
We are a team of high schoolers who live, and are good at game making. We all are WOW-ed by capabilities of the James Webb Space Telescope. In addition to coding, we have 3D modeling skills with fusion 360. So using our diverse sets of skills and experience, this project builds interesting game connected with JWST in order to showcase its amazing design and satisfying.

The name of our team means Sunset.
And knowing the history of the JWST telescope and the fact that NASA has not recognized this project many times, we decided to name the team this way in honor of James Webb. After all, sunset is proof that the end can also be beautiful.

We came up with a game related to the James Webb Telescope. A game that contains 2 Modes. The game’s interface is rotating telescope animation. When the player starts the game, he looks through the lens, on the 1st person mode. 1 Mode - for planetary exploration. So you can see the structure of the solar system. You can also zoom and scroll the screen in all directions (horizontally, vertically and diagonally). And you can also get relevant information about the planet. If you point the telescope at Venus, you can see its temperature, its distance from the Sun, its duration, its radius, its type). 2nd Mode - provides the ability to receive information about planets, as well as travel through the solar system.

Our entire project was done on the Unity program and written in C#. 3D models of Planets and the solar system, the rear view, the James Webb telescope and all the objects we did on the program itself and on Fusion 360.

Our project web site provides instruction videos and ready-to-run programs; anyone interested can immediately learn how to play and get relevant knowledges about telescope. We hope you find this project interesting and useful and then learn about something about JWST. JWST has been already launched. Let's get to know about it and observe its unique capabilities.

A TRIP TO THE HACKATHON
We didn't know anything about JWST when we selected a task for our project. The word "game development" caught our attention because we love creating games. So we were faced with the task of Learning through the looking glass, and soon after that we were delighted with the stunning design of the JWST and the "amazing" capabilities of this telescope. Since then, we have learned A lot about JWST by reading NASA web pages and corresponding Wikipedia pages and watching various YouTube videos, for example, about where it went and how it will work in space, how big it is, why it has to be so big, why hexagons are used in its main mirror, why it has two mirrors (primary and secondary mirrors), what is infrared radiation, etc. We would never have known about it if we had not worked on this task. It was a lot of fun to create, code, play, and then learn something completely new for us.
It is very interesting to discover that a modern telescope can explore distant stars and galaxies, as well as the universe. Some mechanisms of the game are similar to the movie "Interstellar" and the game "StarWalk2". In the creation, all the details seem simple. And we realized that these simple-looking details should not be underestimated. Some of them make a significant contribution to the creation of an interesting game. The best approach to creation would be to look around and learn from the familiar things in our lives.

We also learned that Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk are trying to find a way to build houses in space as quickly as possible. One of their tasks should be how to make this project as realistic as possible in the eyes of people so that they believe in the project. Creating a game related to this topic can be a solution to this problem. It can also contribute to the effective realization of the goal, as well as show people how realistic it can be both in the game and in life. We plan to explore how NASA and other space agencies plan to implement bulky designs and tasks in the near future.21:21
