JamesApp - Learn about JWST by playing

High-Level Project Summary

JamesApp, our project is about learning JWST by playing the games and that's not all. There are some games: quiz and memory game about JWST and space. People can learn about James Webb Space Telescope by playing the games, we think it's the best way to tell people about most powerful space telescope, and we are very sure that JWST deserves it, because even given that JWST was launched to second Lagrange point (L2) recently it made a huge contribution for science already. It's very important to know about JWST, because this is the beginning of something new, and a new level of space exploration.

Detailed Project Description

As we said our application provides to user to learn about JWST and space by playing the game, also media and information about space bodies. After installing you can enjoy your study in "JamesApp" and explore space together with us, even main menu of application it's solar system - literally. We want to point out as black hole fans that black holes are very hot topic in science, because science can't explain this phenomenon thoroughly and we believe that JWST will answer many of our questions in the future. We know that our application is simple, but sometimes you need to take your first step, and here it is, our first step. Who knows, maybe our application will help someone become a scientist in the future.

Our IDE is Android Studio and our coding language is Kotlin, because it's recommended by Google for building Android apps and it's modern, concise and safe programming language, also we used Git and GitHub for Version Control System. Adobe Illutrator, CorelDraw were our vectror editors. Libaries for Android developing: Koil and Glide

Hackathon Journey

It was our first experience and it was the best. We met new friends, different types of people, quickly made a team and we practiced our English also. For me personally I was dreaming to be an astronaut in my childhood but unfortunately that's not possible right now, so I decided that if I want to be near space technology then I should participate in this challenge. First of all we discussed what we will develop in order to make sure have enough time and keep deadlines, then we did some sketches of UI, logic, UX etc. As a team-leader I tried all my best to help and support my teamI was making sense of some games, icons and fixing some bugs in the code. Bakhtiyor was finding contents, making design for contents and main menu of our app with Solar System design. Zafar were doing difficult task - designing game with JWST design and fixing some logic problems of code. We overcame all the difficulties on the way

We want to thank several great people - Nilufar Muradova for inviting our team to participate in NSAC and we really appreciate it. Thanks a lot from all my team for you all for organizing NSAC every year.
