Detailed Project Description

Cosmic Fugue

How it works:

The game starts with the character on a map where it can move about by using the joystick. The player can navigate the map and choose a chest from the various ones that are available. Each chest has a different game within it, This is where the multi-gaming experience comes in.

Lets number the chests, since our application contains 4 games , we'll number them as 1,2,3 & 4.

Chest 1 - contains flash cards with an image and information about it within it. This is the main source of gaining knowledge for the user and to learn about the James Webb telescope. Here the user also collects points through every flashcard after reading which helps him to unlock various badges that improve his status in the game. These points can also be used to customize your character.

Chest 2- This chest contains a quiz based on the flash cards that the user has read in chest 1. This chest remains locked until certain topics of chest 1 are completed with different flashcards being completed certain quizzes are unlocked. The user collects points with the number of right answers and is able to move on to the other questions. this quiz helps the user test their knowledge and improve their learning.

Chest 3- This chest contains a fun puzzle game with the pictures of the James Webb telescope and the pictures taken by it. this helps the user visualize their learning and with the completion of each puzzle the user gains points and badges.

Chest 4- This is the last chest and a fun game just like flappy bird but with the James Webb telescope navigating through its orbit and not hitting the asteroids and the space debris that might be present on the orbit. The user gains points and badges through this.

Space Agency Data

We used the resources provided under the space apps challenge learning through the looking glass resources tab. We used images of the James Webb telescope and of the images captured by it.

Hackathon Journey

Our Space Apps journey was a great learning opportunity for all of us. We came up with a solid plan and had fun executing it. Teamwork and perseverance were essential for us as we worked through all the parts of the App.

The James Webb Space Telescope is one of the greatest creations in the history of space exploration. It has given us revolutionary images that give us a deeper understanding of the world beyond. Creating an App that specializes in spreading this knowledge to the world for us is a dream come true. We have specially curated this App for younger generations aiming to boost their knowledge vis a vis the JWST.

Our mentor was instrumental in helping us whenever the time called. We were able to come up with viable solutions that had improved the performance of the app.

We'd like to thank our mentor for assisting us during this journey, our rival teams for maintaining the spirit of competition and lastly, our family and friends for supporting us throughout the period of the hackathon.
