The Stars in our Sky

High-Level Project Summary

Welcome to our Project - "The Stars in our Sky" by Abrar Shahriar of Team Celtics. We have developed a star viewing website where users can actually see how the stars in our sky move above our head, something which cannot be seen that easily because of the speeds stars travel with. We have also included a guide for users to understand how Stellar Variability occurs by providing data and statistics from the very famous Kepler II Spacecraft. Lastly we have explained in details why Stellar Variability occurs where we talk extensively about the two main factors of Stellar Variability :1. Orbiting Companions2. Stellar Astrophysics

Detailed Project Description

My project allows Users to experience the breathtaking view of stars changing their brightness, and for that we have used HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

We hope to inform people about Stellar Variability by showing them exactly how it looks like in the sky and explaining to them why this happens.

Space Agency Data

We used data from NASA's "Kepler Space Telescope" and from the European Space Agency the "ESA Science & Technology - Variable stars in Hubble's sky" also helped massively.

Hackathon Journey

The Journey was amazing. I learned a lot specially about Stellar Variability and I hope to return for the 2023 NASA Space Apps Challenge!
