Fever and Cold

High-Level Project Summary

I've developed a short video that shows an implication that can happen if the climate is changing drastically day by day. Hence, I've suggested a solution by making "One Student One Tree" campaign mandatory in school to maintain the sustainability of the forests. By planting more trees, we can heal the Earth such as restoring the ozone layer and reducing the rate of greenhouse effect. Hence, we can prevent the climate change from the worst.

Detailed Project Description

Introduction

The video that I've developed is highlighting about the effect of climate change towards the Earth. The main point that I want to highlight in the video is the action of abusing the environment can reflect its effect to human. By ruining our home, we're basically making ourselves homeless and I want to prevent it from happening. So, I come up with a solution by widening the campaign of "One Student One Tree" all over the world and make it mandatory.

How Does It Work?

By sharing the video and showing it to the student ranged from 5 years old and older.

Benefits Of The Project

To educate the students about the effect of the climate change. They also can be aware of what will happen in the future and they can come up with a better idea since they were exposed to the technology from a very young age.

Hope to Achieve

  1. Increasing the sustainability of the resources of the forests.
  2. More innovations will come up to solve the problem.
  3. Increase the awareness of people towards the issue .

Space Agency Data

NASA Global Climate Change provides me some data to complete my project. The website includes the evidence of the climate change, how it happened and the effects of the climate change.

Hackathon Journey

I found about NASA Space Apps from Facebook a month ago when I was scrolling through the app. The advertisement took my attention a lot when it mentioned about the Game Jam, which was my favourite workshop during the whole event. Then, I decided to go solo and to be honest, it's difficult when I'm working alone and trying my best to represent my school. However, I was able to complete the project with the help of my teachers. I'm sorry if the project isn't complete because due to lack of experience, I've taken a lot of time doing unnecessary stuff.

Since the workshop is only available in a limited area of my country, Malaysia and I live quite a far from the location, I was unable to join a lot of physical workshop which make me missed a lot of experience and points. However, the experience I've got from the virtual workshop is quite enough but I think it's better to experience the physical workshop to gain more knowledge.

The main reason why I chose this topic is because I want to educate the new generation, Gen Z and Gen Alpha about the threat of the climate change. They need to realize that the society is destroying the Mother Nature by releasing more carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, methane, chlorofluorocarbons, and water vapor. My project aims to let the new generations produce a more innovative way to cut down the torture to the Earth since they were exposed to technology from a very young age. With the help of modern technology nowadays, it's for sure they're going to make a massive change towards the Earth to a bright side.

I want to thank Miss Syazlin, Mr Daryl Albright and the other individuals that involved directly or indirectly in this project for their contribution as from the idea, permission to use my smartphone in school and moral support. It's an honour to mention that both of them have been helping me a lot since I was in a solo team and this is my first time joining this challenge. Thank you NASA Space Apps for teaching me something that I don't study at school thoroughly and I hope I can join again with a stronger team and more opportunities to grab.
