Whenever we think about Climate Change all we think about as solution is Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Reduction, electricity, and Sustainable sources of energy to stop our negative actions towards our climate. So we found our solution based on natural source, which is peridotite rock the magic rock that can soak up carbon dioxide and covert it to calcite mineral. This reaction happens because peridotite rock contains silicate mineral in which it react with CO2 to produce calcite mineral. Our goal is to deliver that magic rock all around the world by implementing our approach convert this rock to powder form and spread it out to the air to capture CO2. We will save our earth with peridotite rock.
“HOW DOES CLIMATE CHANGE AFFECT YOU?” This is the challenge that our team took to try and have a solution with Nasa Sauce App Challenges. While tackling Climate Change, the narrowed our efforts to Global Warming because it was one of the factors which add to Climate Change.
Global Warming is harming our Climate change percentage and one of the main points that affect Global warming is the human-caused Carbon Dioxide emission into the atmosphere, As well, We are aware that Global Warming is not the only reason that we have Climate Change. there is a type of shift in the Climate Shift in our Earth's atmosphere where the North and South pole magnetic fields shift which in exchange there is a climate change in many aspects.
Climate Change has some kind of an Impact that is clear and based on Nasa's public Data there are three main impacts out of a huge enormous amount of variables that show the impact of Climate Change Sea-level Change, Global Temperature, and the increase of Carbon Dioxide. The amount of CO2 rose from 365ppm (In 2002) to over 400ppm ( Currently 2022 ). Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere warms the planet causing Global Warming, Human Activities have raised the atmosphere’s CO2 by 50% in less than 200 years. In addition, The Global mean sea level has risen by 3.98in since 1992, and its currently rising at approximately 0.15in per year. concluding wit, Earth’s Global average surface temperature in 2020 aied with 2016 as the hottest year on record, continuing a long-term warming trend due to human activities { Latest annual average in 2021 is 0.85c }
However, we aimed to find a way to reduce the Carbon Dioxide Emission which is caused by humans. The goal is not to wait for the transitions which are happening to use sustainable Energy resources. We need to find a catalyst that decreases the rate of climate change and increases the net, which could be efficient in terms of Economy, efficiency, and within budget.
Looking at today's available solutions we weren't convinced that the availability is going to work 100% in the current time. We thought about Natural Base Solution (NBS). Natural Based Solutions are efficient, Eco-friendly, and affordable. We have searched for a couple of solutions but the solution which we realized has enormous potential is the Priedotite.
Prediotite is kind of a magic rock that could potentially be the global warming reduction catalyst due to its amazing characteristics. It mostly contains silicate minerals and reacts with co2 to convert to calcite and solid minerals and soak up CO 2 emissions and reduce climate change, its manly founded in the Sultanate of Oman and there is potential to be founded all around the world.
It can absorb more than 2 billion tons naturally out of 30 tons of human-caused co2 emissions every year.
The simplest way to use Peridotite to capture CO2 would be to carry large amounts of them, grind them into fine particles, and spread them out to expose them to the air. The material could be turned over from time to time to expose fresh surfaces, or perhaps air with a higher CO2 concentration could be pumped into it to speed up the process.
The first approach is to drill pairs of wells and pump water with dissolved co2, into one of them, as the water moves through the rock carbonate would form in it. As it reaches the well, the water, depletes of co2 will pump out. This process can be repeated over and over. In addition, accelerates this natural reaction by heat and forcing CO2 down into the rock through drilled holes.
The second way, Capturing co2 and storing it underground. This method could require thousands of miles of pipelines. On the other hand, it's dangerous because the CO2 could leak back into the atmosphere in the future.
The third way to use Peridotite to capture CO2 would be to carry large amounts of them, grind them into fine particles, and spread them out to expose them to the air.
Regarding the results which we have got by conducting the experiments, We strongly believe the third approach is the best option for the absorption of co2 because it’s easier to implement and we can easily transport and spread the fine particles of peridotite rock to any location which has higher pollution percentage. lastly, it's easier to locate the Peridotite, which in exchange, will make it affordable in terms of cost.
We hope that we can expand our radius of exploration all around the World to find the Prediotite and create the perfect system for it, Economically, Financially, and Sustainability. As Well as creating automation of the process where we can make the same function that Prediotite does with the rock by Itself.

Our experience in the Space Apps was one of our greatest participations ever. We have learned a lot through the mentorship which was provided by Ms.Sara, Curiosity and the hunger of learning and going through the research experience. Our approach was use Peridotite to capture CO2 would be to carry large amounts of them, and grind them into fine particles and spread them out to expose them to the air, Problem and solution system. We had a lot of challenges and setbacks but we could pass them by the guide of our mentors. Thank You for your efforts please keep your efforts.
