ALERT!

High-Level Project Summary

We developed the "Alert!" app so people may find out about recent disasters, stay safe, and find out if an event is already happening. It also helps with the presentation of GPS-based catastrophe evacuation routes. At the time of the disaster, our program will alert people so that they can take shelter elsewhere. The NASA Application Programming Interface was among the resources we tapped. Thus, daily disaster is managed by this software, reducing its bad impacts. It's important because it helps people before, during, and after disasters by giving them emergency services and help.

Detailed Project Description

How We Addressed This Challenge

Problem:

A sudden event known as a "Natural Disaster" is one that is always caused by factors other than human action and always results in significant collateral damage, extensive destruction, or loss of life. Natural disasters can be brought on by landslides, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, flooding, earthquakes, and more. A disaster must regularly result in financial loss, have severe negative effects on the environment, and/or result in human loss.

Over the past ten years, natural disasters have killed an average of 0.1% of people worldwide. However, this ranged from 0.01% to 0.4% of all deaths and was highly variable for high-impact events.

All of these tragic events prompted us to consider a fix. We began acting and working on our idea using NASA disasters, Earth observations, and other data.

Our solution:

Introduction:

Creating predictions for the past, present, and future is the major goal of "NASA Data Information." Additionally, assisting humans and animals prior to, during, and after a fire breaks out. Additionally, our app offers services, safe zones, directions, maps, real-time notifications, and alerts for disasters.

Main Topic:

We have two special features one is Daily Disaster and Self Escape but both features can work for a mixing purpose. if the daily disaster shows a user danger zone the automatically will show a warning with why the danger happened and also show a go-to safe button after clicking the button will show a map. On this map, the user will show the shortest path to reach the safe zone. We have another feature that if there is any position the user will notify in real-time.

Real-Time Notifications And Alerts For Disasters:

Wildfire:

Wildfire is a feature that shows all the previous and current wildfires on google map by using NASA JSON data.

Vision:

Our vision is that all people live a safe life from natural calamities and disaster

Note:

We have already added many features to our apps. but because of time problems, we can not able to add other important features because of much necessary data not found on Nasa Api or we don’t understand which API we need to use from NASA

Resources:

  • Visual Studio
  • Android Studio
  • Dart
  • Flutter
  • HTTP
  • API
  • JSON
  • Figma

Space Agency Data

NASA API’s:

Nasa EONET

Google Map API

Comment: EONET and Google Map API were used for getting the wildfire zone, safe

zone and finally show on google Maps.

InSight: Mars Weather Service API:

Open Weather API

Comment: With the help of NASA MARS and Open weather API we collected all the

weather-related information and solve money solutions related to our app category

Hackathon Journey

This was a life-changing experience that was more than just a competition.

Making excuses for those who have it and managing our time well are just a few of the important skills we learned. I've become good at planning ahead. In order to provide the highest quality, we struggled against the current. We entered this contest because we believe that every life is valuable and we want to save people and other living things from the catastrophic natural disasters brought on by climate change.

Last but not least, I want to express my gratitude to all of the team members for their collaboration. A special thanks go out to everyone who worked on the competition's planning. Being a part of such a wonderful event was an enormous pleasure.

I'm grateful, as always.
