Forest Fire Detection using IOT

High-Level Project Summary

Forest fire plays a major role in the destruction of vegetation. It is naturally caused or human caused. It affects the loss of livelihood, lowering the air quality by enhancing the greenhouse gases, erodes the soil and destroys the balance in its nutrients. It leads to a high risk of landslides and flooding. To avoid these losses, here comes an idea to detect the forest fire at the initial stage and control spreading throughout the forest.

Detailed Project Description

Here comes an idea to detect the forest fire at the initial stage and control spreading throughout the forest. The proposed solution #Rescue_Forest includes Wireless Multimedia Sensor Network (WMSN). This network consists of temperature sensor, humidity sensor, gas sensor, fire sensor and pressure sensor by which the environmental conditions can be monitored. The data collected by the sensor and the image captured by the in-built camera are transmitted to the cloud through GSM-IOT where the information gets processed, analysed and sent to the concerned authorities and users via mobile app. If the fire is detected, the fire location will be tracked with the help of RFID and an alert will be sent to the app. This #Rescue_Forest will minimize the out spread of fire so that the loss of vegetation can be reduced and habitats of animals and people could be saved.
