Alien Takeover

High-Level Project Summary

The challenge that I made, was being able to stop an alien takeover. In order to stop the aliens from taking over, I had developed a space shooter game to show how we can overcome an attack from any extraterrastial. I solved the "Alien Takeover " Challenge by being able to display the outcome of the game once we save the world from an enemy attack! This projects is important because I am able to use technology that we now have to show what are the different ways we can outshoot these aliens!

Detailed Project Description

This project uses Scratch as its main programming language. It creates different aliens on the top of the screen and then they all move down at the same time towards the player. The player is the user, and it is required to shoot at the aliens to try to stop them from coming down towards it. Using the keyboard, the player may guide the shooter to move around the map, and avoid being taken or hit by the aliens! The reason why we will benefit from this is that we wlil have a better understanding on how aliens can attack and the different methods they may use. Once we show our power, the aliens can get scared or may want to work with us in the name of science.

Space Agency Data

I tried to implement data provided by NASA but could not figure out how to make to relate.

Hackathon Journey

I spent the entire first day working on the scratch project since my idea needed many sprites and required lots of code to make it work. I also did not forget to take breaks because I was told by my brother that taking breaks helps come up with new ideas, and refresh your brain. by the end of day 1 I was able to have the shooter work, and even have a few aliens work. Day 2, I focused on finishing the project, by adding a minor part to the alien attack and it can capture us. Also, I spent more time on research on aliens, because it is something I am interested in! There are many things that we may classify as aliens all because we do not know! Regardless of that, I also spent the second day, filling out my team page.
