Parker Project

High-Level Project Summary

We modeled an app with a virtual pet you have to take care of. Our app solves the challenge by raising awareness in a more interactive and friendly awareness about the parker solar probe. This is important because the activity produced by the sun affects our planet in more ways than we are aware of, an example could be that our bodies are affected by the radiation emitted by the solar winds

Detailed Project Description

This app consists of taking care of a virtual pet named Parker. He teaches you about the Parker Solar Probe. You have to take care of Parker, such as feeding him, sleeping him, and taking him to the bathroom, while he provides you with information about the solar system probe. You also can play a few games in the app. The benefit of our app is that it helps you become aware of how the sun affects us. Our goal is to make people, of all ages, interested in the discoveries of the Parker Solar Probe and its respective advances.

We used multiple platforms and apps to help us prototype this app. We used Canva to create the logo and the presentation. To design the interphase we used Figma and Augin to add a 3D model to our presentation.

Space Agency Data

We used space data provided by NASA and "The Johns Hopkins University" to illustrate our presentation with 3D models, videos about the sun, and the Parker Solar Probe. Also, we choose pictures of our pets from Vexels.

Hackathon Journey

Our experience in this Hackathon was very interesting. In the beginning, we didn't know what to expect, but as we worked and advanced in our project, we felt more comfortable and accompanied. The mentors helped us with all the things we needed and taught us how to use a new app and website.
