We have developped an website-based application which visualized two choices of Earth observation data on the virtual globes. We let two globes presented side by side so that a user can compare different data easily.
This website-based application projects NASA's Earth observation data onto the virtual globes in parallel by utilizing the Javascript library globe.gl. These two globes shown side by side allow user to compare different observations easily. Data were downloaded and saved as JPG locally from NASA Earth Observation website. This simple function is beneficial for future addition of data. In addition, 2D mapping functionality would tell how different projection would affect the impression of data. We believe this application would be helpful and inspirational to may people in various occasions (especially students and their researches),
The main data resource of our product is NASA. We downloaded globally projected Earth observation data from NEO website, then we projected them onto the virtual globe.
We are from Science club of Toin high school / junior highschool. Our club's main project is CanSat, we often make graphes from it. We choose this challenge because analysis of Earth observation data sounds reasonably challenging for us and would be capable for CanSat application as well.
In this intense two days, we have realized the time is too short to develop full-functional application. Now we are motivated to improve our prototype with additional features, e.g. multiple languages, image export, and something more user-friendly.

#Visualization, #WebApplication, #EarthObservation
Numerous Earth visualization applications use available Earth Observation data to help us understand our planet, but some of these applications could be augmented to be even more useful. Your challenge is to select an existing NASA, Space Apps, or other open source Earth data visualization web application and improve it by incorporating one or more valuable data analysis features.
