Mars colony

High-Level Project Summary

Since the beginning of NASA's journey to explore space, especially Mars, there have been many failed flights, but with the mirner 4 flight, it was a golden start for the exploration of the red planet. But there were a lot of problems there that the astronauts faced, such as lack of food and oxygen, lack of tools and many more So we've developed tools out of materials like plastic, metal, and concrete that will help astronauts perform all their missions on the planet, and other devices that will help them produce electricity, oxygen, water, methane, and more.

Detailed Project Description

Thinking about solutions for the astronaut problems we found that the first thing to do is solving the challenge which is making tools that can help the astronaut to live for a year in mars. So, we thought about tools to make it by 3d printers in mars... The first tool is assembled ferneture that includes bed, chair, game, table, and cupboard by the way of making a bed by concrete printer with a holes inside it with dimensions 2m for length and 1m for width, at the same time there is 20 single cube we can but it in side the bed and use it as a many things, such as:chair, table, cupboard, and game each cube with dimensions 10cm^3. The secind tool is called knisor with ruler that we can use it as a knife, sessiors, and ruler that happen by make it with double knives and use it as a scesser and when we take it alone and stik two parts of knives then we can use it as a ruler

The third tool is dis and cup in the same tool by using a circle from plastic ,when we take the circle as it is it will be a dish and when we stress in it it will be a cup

The fourth tool is the multi handle it like a hand or thing with many heads that can carry many things like hair brush, tooth brush, and atc...

Te

The fifth tool is syringe that we use it in the fast solution when some one have a wound to take the blood as faster as possible

After that we have a tool of plastic bag that can help the astronaut in putting things in the space without air

And the tool of shovel and tweezers in the same thing that the astronaut will be needed to use it the last tool in the wheel that we said that it was broken so we have to make new one, the design of it will be like a ster to make signs in the road and will be closed to protect the inside of it

As an addition to these tools we recommend in the future plans making devices to help the astronauts on mars like:

- Electricity & methane producer: it use the human waste with its two types and convert it to methane by putting bacteria on it from mars and producing Electricity by putting this waste in a microable cell.

- water producer: cuz the water vapor in mars atmosphere is 100% so it'll be an effective source for water by putting a metal box direct to the sun rays then a condensation process will happen and water drops is collected to water

- oxygen producer: cuz the co2 percentage in the atmosphere Is about 95% so we will convert it by using super potassium oxide with a catalyst.

Space Agency Data

Certainly, we have used a lot of space organizations, such as the Egyptian Space Organization, and they inspired us by how it started in a simple way and then developed and reached great achievements. Also, certainly, NASA's various sources and different experiences have helped us a lot, and we have tracked the development of trips and life to Mars, and that helped us determine the requirements of our challenge.

Hackathon Journey

Of course, every project begins with an idea The beginning of our team's inspiration was to watch the movie The Martian. We saw the difficulties they faced on Mars and how they tried to address them And certainly the NASA competition was one of the best opportunities to realize this dream and make it a reality We chose this challenge because we believe in the importance of space exploration and the importance of helping the astronauts who make these trips During the two days of the hackathon, we learned a lot from programming, scientific research, presentation and communication skills, and many more, and how to create cooperation between the team. We started by looking for all the problems and the best ways to solve them. We faced challenges in solving many things and their impact on other things, but in the end we were able to address them.In the end, I think the person who should be thanked the most is the team members To bear all these difficulties and continue to the end
