During the hacking my team developed several designs that are essential for the basic part of a Martian exploration, as well as certain tools that are multi-purpose.Among them there are tools for removing materials such as rocks, sand, these are hammers, levers, chisels with plastic handles, in addition these handles and hammers have another additional use such as keys and lengthening bars, bed formed by Legos. On the other hand, there are the supports for the distillation equipment with plastic and metal parts, there is also the concrete house as a storage for tools, concrete blocks for the perimeter fence of the habitat. It is important because without the tools we cannot do anything.
MARTIAN exploration tools with 3D printing
Wheels with a diameter of 5in have been designed, which will be printed with metal and later have a simple assembly process since it consists of screws.

It also has a cover to prevent sand from entering the wheel through the visible part, it is also fastened with screws.

In addition, it has a pattern that is the text "14P" in MORSE code referring to the 14 Pulsars that we have as a reference to locate our solar system, even this message is on the Voyager probe discs.

Well, we have also designed tools like the hammer and chisel with plastic handles which in turn with the plastic handles can be assembled one after another like a lego and form bars.

Now I show you the tools that are printed with metal and this piece was designed that serves as a hammer and in turn works as a clamp for 10mm-8mm-6mm-4mm Allen keys, to turn bolts.

Another function it fulfills is that of a climbing anchor when tying rope through the hole it has.

Another utility is to function as a 10, 8, 6 hex bolt wrench.

Besides we have other tools that works as a chisel to break rocks, it also works as a lever to lift objects or move them only.

Another function is that it serves as a stake to nail to the ground and through the hole we can tie tent ropes for camping.

Another important detail that we have considered is the astronaut's bed, since it is necessary to rest to improve the body's metabolism, due to which the bed is made up of plastic pieces assembled like lego.

Also, it can be folded and unfolded to optimize the space area.

Distillation is a separation technique used for the purification of liquids and the separation of mixtures in order to obtain their individual components. The efficiency of this method is based on the boiling point of two or more substances, due to which parts have been designed to print with plastic and metal in order to support the round-bottomed balloon flask, condenser, thermometer, burner, Erlenmeyer flask. , etc.
All of this helps us analyze and investigate the ice on Mars breaking down chemicals through melting (ice – liquid), boiling (liquid – gas), and condensation (vapor to water).

Another important piece is the metal condenser holder, it is also adjustable to different diameters by means of pressure from an elastic band tied through the holes.

Another essential tool is the 3D printed plastic test tube rack, this tool helps us keep safe our Martian soil samples and structural analyzes of chemical substances in liquid and solid state (mixture of chemical salts).

Another important aspect is the astronaut's habitat because it protects from strong lightning that passes through the atmosphere of Mars, wind storms, preserves the survival of the astronaut, crops and maintains the pressure of oxygen suitable for the human body.
This habitat must be printed with concrete for a prolonged duration and mechanical resistance.

Another important piece printed with concrete is the containment block since it helps to delimit the perimeter of the human base, it also helps us to deviate the direction of the wind, in this way the force of the wind towards the habitat will be less.

In that project we used AutodeskInventor software, Office Word, exel, NASA.
We have mostly used NASA documents as a reference for some data and habitat needs.

The Hackathon was spectacular, I learned a new science of exploring other planets by implementing new emerging technologies such as 3D printing. The inspiration was due to the challenge of 3D printing applied in another environment of life, in this case in exoplanetary applications.
The focus of my team was towards the change of exploration tools with additive construction, metal and concrete.
Happily, the work was concluded in a positive way, complying with the previously proposed schedule.
My team thanks all the agencies that are part of the organization of this great Hacking event such as NASA, ESA, JAXA, CSA / ASC, this helps all space lovers to complement their knowledge of new areas, branches and fields of the aerospace science.

Imagine you’re an astronaut who has newly arrived on the Red Planet. Your habitat has been pre-constructed for you, but, other than three 3-D printers, it doesn’t have most of the things you need to live and work. Your challenge is to design tools, furniture, and other items to assist you on your one-year mission.
