Hackathon Journey
The reason why we chose "OUTFITTING A MARS HABITAT: A 3D PRINT CHALLENGE". This is because the participant of this program have strong affinity with this program. One student loves architecture, another student loves space, the other student can do modeling etc. Also, everyone has strong interest for expanding habitable zone.
We gained 3 things in particular through this journey.
The first thing is that the expertises of space such as spacecraft, asteroids, and so forth. Every data or information that we searched were very surprising because we've never touch such experiences. In detail, the data from NASA analog mission was amazing. Thanks to the information, we could understand how difficult is to live in the space, and how to make confortable habitable area .
The second thing is that cooperation. Our team has many students who have different background and skills. One student can use blender and Fusion, another student has been researching about asteroids, and so forth. This program requires us to use various types of skills so we had to cooperate each others. Through working with our teammate, we learned how to trust team mate.
The third thing is about 3D printing and material science. Through researching about this project, we've learned about huge potential of 3D printer or material science. For example, additive construction material , which can make stronger material than concreate, was astonishing for us.
