Space Adventure: The Amazing Parker Solar Probe

High-Level Project Summary

Our comic is to introduce the parker solar probe to young audiences that most likely would not like long explanations. We decided to give a fun way to teach people about the parker solar probe

Detailed Project Description

Once upon a time, there was a team of adventurers who wanted to see the sun

No not just looking at it from the earth-but from space. Yes they were no ordinary adventurers, but space adventurers! That sounded way cooler in my head…

You could call them space travellers if you’d like

This team consisted of only four members

The captain, Everest the wolf, a brave warrior, leading the team with an iron fist.

She was the brains of the team, most likely the reason why she’s in charge. Though you’d sometimes catch her staring out the window everytime a glimpse planet passes by.

Then there were her three crewmates;

Aspen the cat, the tactition. A curious feline with not so much patience, banned from coming close to the buttons.

Helen the penguin, the flight engineer, quite ironic yes i know. A friendly bird with a great love for music.

And Esther the Hedgehog, the most social of the bunch, and the most likely to steal your peanut butter jelly sandwich. She’s in charge of communications.

The reason esther is much larger than the normal hedgehog is because she ate a suspicious sandwich in one of their adventures. Thus causing her to suddenly gain a “growth spurt”.

Now done with introductions

We shall peak into how the team of adventurers are doing at this very moment.

“NEE NUUU NEE NUUU (heh)” ahh the alarm is blarring. It seems that the space ship is under attack, the attacker being a-giant space jellyfish? Never thought those exist in space did you, well now it does.

“Captain what do we do!?” Helen asked, droplets of sweat falling down her face. Esther was running frantically in circles screaming “WE’RE GONNA DIE” as Aspen was crouched in the corner rocking back and forth.

“TO THE POD!!” Everest yelled, running towards the space pod as the rest followed after.

After everyone was on board the door went shut and they made their escape.

Seeing that the distance of the aftermath from the pod was far enough, everyone looked out the window. Their spaceship, that was apparently disguised as a top hat, was now placed on top of the jellyfishs’ head. It seemed happy to have an accessory its size as it even did a little twirl as it “swam” away.

“Well i guess we’re not disguising our ships to look like hats from now on” Aspen deadpanned, “If there is a next time” Helen added in, both watching the figure of the space jelly getting smaller and smaller as it went further away.

“Come on now guys stop being so negative” Esther who had disappeared into the kitchen to said, taking a bite out of a sandwich “Wuk ah fe bwight shide, aht weash this pwaesh hash a lifethime suppwy of fwood!”

“Ew don’t talk when you’re eating-that’s gross” Helen said, slapping Esther on the leg with her fins.

“Welp it seems that everyone’s calmed down” Everest chimed in, looking at the penguin and hedgehog fighting as the cat cheered them on in the sidelines.

It went on for a while before Aspen got tired and approached their captain “We should probably head back home now that we’re out of dange-“ she was cut off when a big shadow was casted over the pod.

“What is that?” Esther raised a brow. “I don’t know- some sort of skewer?” Helen replied, both now over their scuffle as if it never happened.

“Welp as the saying goes; you only live once” Everest said, already suited up to go explore. Aspen held up her helmet “Or in some cases; nine”.

Now they were all out inspecting the mechanism.

“Hmm it seems somewhat familiar”

“I think I’ve seen it somewhere before”

“Yea me too”

Everest then racked up her brain before a memory came to her “IVE GOT IT!” She exclaimed

“Got what?” Helen questioned, tilting her head.

“Where I’ve seen this before: the Parkers solar probe."

“Ahh well- whether all that info went in or not guess we’ll find out another time”

“Let’s go back in and take a rest” and so everyone went to bed.

The end

Space Agency Data

The Parker Solar Probe have intrigued our mind and the fact that we never even heard of it before is actually bizzare for us. We then decided to do something to spread knowledge on it and this is one of the reason why we decided to do this challenge.

Hackathon Journey

challenging.. i would like to thank all of my group members for being in this journey together.
