Fly me to the sun

Fly me to the Sun: Experiencing Parker's Adventures

High-Level Project Summary

You will play from a first-person perspective and receive tasks from the game (you ARE Parker!) . The system will pop the science window to explain missions and space phenomena, allowing you to learn about the sun and Parker's journey simultaneously as they solve the challenges encountered by Parker. But before the game, let's "snoop" about Parker's birth story!

Detailed Project Description

Our challenge is to develop a creative way to tell young audiences about Parker’s journey. We want to tell through the game why Parker can approach the sun unscathed, and why it is necessary to explore the sun. The game will play from a first-person perspective and assign tasks to players. The system will pop the science window to explain missions and space phenomena, allowing players to learn about the sun and Parker's journey simultaneously as they solve the challenges encountered by Parker. We expect to arouse public awareness and attention to the sun through games.

Hackathon Journey

We decided to participate without hesitation when we first heard about this competition. A considerable part of the reason was that the competition format allowed us to use a creative way to play our values and do our work. Still, more importantly, we knew that this competition was a rare opportunity; even though we knew nothing about the space, we all thought it was worth trying instead of going to school camping.

Not only was it an honor to participate in this competition, but it was also quite a surprise - we never thought we would read, study and discuss so much data about NASA in two days, even triggering our interest in space! In this competition, we not only learned efficient teamwork and access to high-quality resources but also learned how to organize the most effective and essential information in the shortest possible time. In this process, we also profoundly realized the mysteries of the universe and the fun of exploring the world. Perhaps planting the seed of interest in our hearts is the most valuable thing in the entire competition process! Thank's to us, thank you, NASA, and thanks to space!
