On The Way To The Sun

High-Level Project Summary

our challenge was to develop a creative way to educate young audience about Parker Solar probe, we decided to create a comic that will be fun, easy to understand and indeed informative. It is important for kids to learn about future historical events as they will be the ones living the next decades. Youngsters are more interested in small, art-filled and easy to read books so we figured we wouldn't overload their still developing brains with a lot of information they might not even be able to comprehend yet. A comic would be the perfect choice as it's a mix of educational content with fun style kids love to read.

Detailed Project Description

"On the Way to the Sun" is a project that we think most kids will love. Our, and the parents of the children role is to educate their kids as much as possible without making them hate books, making them uninterested to read in future unless the parent forces them. Kids have an easy time reading small sentences, especially if they are accompanied with cartoon-like art, for which a comic is a perfect solution. A mix of education, creativity and fun- exactly what a kid desires and what we hope to achieve. It's a widely known fact that youngsters study better when they are taught that learning can be fun from a young age and don't have a negative relationship with books. There will always be someone to say that a comic will never educate a child enough as it's mostly art- but what they don't understand is that the kid will want to learn more and more about the project until their interest and thirst for learning is quenched. It'll be easier for parents to teach, kids to learn, and for us- to educate. We decided that a classic comic book with a fun cover will interest kids more, because their brains are plain- they want to buy what they think is "pretty" and "interesting-looking".

Hackathon Journey

As it's our first time participating in this type of event we were surprised by many things and we'd say we weren't as prepared as we thought we'd be, but in the end, we managed to solve the problem and come up with the best possible solution. I think teamwork is the most important thing and we achieved it. We chose this challenge we care for the education of future generation as after the next years, our present will be in their hands, and the most important thing we can do for kids today is to help them learn, develop and study.
