Parker to the sun

High-Level Project Summary

This paper addresses our idea to inform young audiences with the great invention of the Parker Solar Probe in a creative, non- boring and understandable story. Apparently, the story highlights the purpose of inventing the Parker solar probe, its mission, importance, and the struggles it faced. Our story introduces Miss Mary who has always been passionate about astronomy and astrophysics. However, because of the communal obstacles she faced, she had to let go of her dream to be an astronaut and instead became a science teacher in an Egyptian preparatory school and she made an astronomy club in the school. She made students make tasks about every detail in the project.

Detailed Project Description

This project helps young audience ranges from 10-24 years to know about the amazing journey of parker solar probe throughout a written story and a website.

The written story introduces Miss Mary, a school teacher that has been always passionated about astronomy but for some communal obstacles she couldn’t study astronomy and instead being a science teacher. The information about Parker Solar Probe are illustrated in the form of a presentation made by Miss Mary’s students who participated in the astronomy club he has made. The story is written in an easy language that can suits all people. It’s written in English and Arabic. We are working on publishing the story in more than 20 languages by 2024. Furthermore, we made a website that includes photos, videos and a blog and more about Parkers Story!

Hackathon Journey

In fact, it was a huge experience to have as the project we made helped us to make new friends and have new cultures. Our team learned being able to work under pressure, have good communication skills, we also learned new challenges from other colleagues. The inspiration became because we wanted to inspire young audiences about astronomy in general and especially about the sun. There has no better chance to achieve our dreams to educate young audiences especially in the middle east than joining NASA Space Apps Challenges. We want to thank ourselves on that perfect cooperation . We also want to thank all the organisers who have been working 24/7 with no rest in the local hakathon. We want to thank NASA for giving us a space to create and develop.
