Global Nominee

Parker The Solar Probe

High-Level Project Summary

Our Team “SAVITR YAAN” made one comic book to represent the fascinating story of Parker solar probe. Our story is based on challenges faced by Parker and how it succeeds. It also includes the result of Parker probe, which non-other solar probe did. It includes the touching of sun, space weather events and more. Base idea behind this project by Space app challenge is to develop curiosity to younger audience about the Parker solar probe. As youngsters and elders often read comics, we thought this is an easy and effective way to tell a scientific story. By reading this kind of stories young audience can get attention about the scientific research and they can help people.

Detailed Project Description

On the way to sun!

It's giving opportunity to people to experience that journey which Parker has lived. Parker solar probe done that thing which no-one has done before.

Our team "Savitr Yaan" have made this thing possible with our comic representation. As we all know about what Parker has done but if we want to explain that hard work we can't express in a scientific language for normal civilians. So we thought why not we should create a comic book which represents its own biography through his mouth to his relatives 'Genesis' & 'SOHO' .The purpose behind making this comic was as all generations from kids to elders have lived or living the era of comic books. So, it's playing an emotional role in everyone life. We think it's an easy and heart-touching way to express brilliant work of those scientist.

We are representing the journey of solar probe from launch to touching sun. When Parker probe was launched by NASA 12th Aug 2018 they sent a hope of light in to space which will introduce new things of our own star "SUN". Parker's target was to study the corona of sun, scientist can study the nature of space weather which can prevent us from hazardous solar phenomena like Carrington event.

It was not that much easy as other spacecraft do because he was going to face extreme conditions of space and the extreme temperature of sun which can melt any material came across it so how did Parker survive that, actually NASA scientist made the carbon foam sandwiched between two carbon plates which is facing towards sun and it will reflect all the energy coming from sun, other thing is placed which is coolant system for behind instruments of the plate. The spacecraft is fitted by the pumps which circulates water to cool all the parts of it and it contains 3.7 litres de-ionised water and chemical coolant. Also, scientist have colored it with white which is non-absorbing heat object, they also put sensors which can detect heat and change position of satellite to give him better condition to survive.

We have also mentioned about how Venus helped Parker to get near the sun with using its gravity solar probe traveled with 4,30,000 miles per hour velocity which no other spacecraft have got. There was also challenge to face the space condition and scientist have made it that level of fitness that can survive extreme space conditions.

In addition, we have twisted beautiful solar phenomena with Parker probe

After a lot of struggles Parker reached its target and, on the 28th April,2021 it crossed the corona of sun and gave some brilliant information.

By creating this kind of stories, we can aware and inspire young audience about the mission by space agencies and research work, which can help people.

We have created this whole comic book with the help of “COMIC LIFE 3” software which is normal GUI based Software. It provides 30 days’ work without watermark.

Space Agency Data

As Parker Solar probe is Mission from NASA, we have used all the resources from NASA space Agency. We are creating Comic, to bound one story of Parker probe we have used all the data from NASA. After doing this project we are so glad that we learn new things about Parker.

We have also used one software for comic making name: Comic Life 3.

Hackathon Journey

During this Hackathon journey we team members learn new things like story writing, graphical designing, teamwork, communication and many more.

we are doing sun spot study with the help of telescope we own and this time NASA gives various projects about sun. We love to tell scientific facts to people. so basically scientific communication about sun is major inspiration for us to choose "ON THE WAY TO SUN".

We have never created a comic book, so it was a bit difficult for us. but as a storyteller we easily learn Comic writing and after that we learn new software.

Challange of this Project is to tell a story by any medium so we tell story of Parker solar probe by Comic.

we will like to thank Mr. Kandarp Parmar to give us review of our Comic. Which is included in our Demonstration.

We will like to thank ISTAR College Faculties to provide us facility and Mr. Krunal Suthar to give guidance.
