On the Way to the Sun

High-Level Project Summary

In our challenge, we were to tell the story of Parker's Solar Probe reaching the sun in a creative way that even children could understand. We decided to build space and planets in Minecraft to later record a short movie that would explain and visualize the entire story in detail, because games are one of the most interesting things for kids. This story is significant because the achievement made by this probe is extremely valuable, making it necessary to share it with more people, including children.

Detailed Project Description

Our project educates a young audience about the historic event that occurred in 2018. It is created in the form of a video to help people visualize the entire event. Our video stands out and attracts people by using simple language, diagrams, and effects. We are hoping for a large number of views because we worked hard to make our project simple and understandable. We used a sandbox game called Minecraft to build our space station and Parker Solar Probe, and a recording app called Bandicam to capture footage of the plot.

Space Agency Data

We only used NASA data because we believe it is the most reliable. Moreover, our lack of knowledge about other agencies influenced our obvious choice. We used it for research, and it inspired us to keep going by providing a wealth of relevant and easily accessible information.

Hackathon Journey

It was an unforgettable experience! We learned how to work in a group of six, adapting to each other's strengths and weaknesses, and enhanced our practical and theoretical skills in recording and editing. The task seemed to us to be one of the most achievable and versatile, so we chose this particular challenge. Of course, as with any group, we had arguments and fights, but we eventually came to an agreement and managed to move on. We would like to contact food-related organizations and individuals. We were quite hungry that day.
