Parker's Journey to the Sun

High-Level Project Summary

In this tech savvy era, it is near impossible to eliminate electronic devices from your child's life, therefore, we used this to our advantage by introducing an educational ebook on the Parker Solar Probe. Not only will this create good reading habits for them, but also give them awareness on current space missions by NASA. Our solution focuses on giving more exposure to the younger audience on the current space exploration missions and encourage them to study more about upcoming space missions and how they impact our lives and the future of humanity.

Detailed Project Description

Our solution focuses on giving more exposure to the younger audience on the current space exploration missions and encourage them to study more about upcoming space missions and how they impact our lives and the future of humanity.

Our project focuses on these aspects:-

  • vibrant multicolored theme to grab attention along with stickers and animations to visually stimulate the younger audience.
  • simple vocabulary and grammar, rhetorical questions that an audience of all age groups can understand
  • we used comparisons and daily life examples that kids relate to so they can grasp the idea better
  • landscape orientation to encourage the use of tablets/ ipad over a small phone screen
  • At the end of the book, we help the kids realise how crucial it is to raise questions so they can lead to discoveries like these.
  • index to help kids further research on tricky words and then put it into context

We used an online presentation/book website called Canva to come up with our project.

Space Agency Data

We dove into a lot of indepth research so we don't just pass on the knowledge, but also simplify it to cater to our younger audience.

We used data from agencies such as NASA and ESA to enhance our knowledge on this topic and get us a better understanding of it.

Hackathon Journey

The questions posed in this challenge resonated with us as we want to spark curiosity for space science in the younger generation. We believe this to be a moral obligation for us as this is how we were introduced to this field at their ages.

Hackathon was an incredible learning experience and gave us a chance to learn many new experiences and skills.

We had an enriching learning experience and learnt how to work under a time crunch while working together as a team to reach common ground. We also learnt how to professionally organize our information and edit it to cater to our target audience, polished up our public speaking skills while presenting too.
