The proposal of the SSF team is to develop an RPG game (Role-playing game) that consists of making decisions based on interactions with the game, directing the narrative within the proposed plot. The objective is to bring entertainment and information about the space mission of the Parker Solar Probe and its path.
The main character is a high school student from a public school in Brazil who has the opportunity to participate in the NASA project at his high school together with his team. The young student and his team get the long-awaited opportunity to visit one of NASA's facilities in the USA. During the excursion, the character ends up getting involved in the Parker solar probe mission. As a genius (not yet discovered), he suggests solutions to the unexpected challenges that arise throughout the probe's development, from construction to "arrival" at the sun.
With RPG elements, the game allows the player to decide which skills to evolve, within a skill tree, so that the character can develop the solutions for each challenge. To do so, the character needs to fulfill several missions, main and secondary, in order to develop skills.
On his journey, the character contributes significantly to the development and supervision of the mission and his participation, crucial to the success of the mission, allows him to have his genius recognized by those responsible for the mission who decide to hire him to be part of the team of specialists at NASA, this being the main objective of the game.
The team encountered some barriers and obstacles during the process, such as the organization of time and project development, challenges regarding distance, the current moment of elections in our country, etc. However, it is motivating and exciting for us to progress together (staff and assistant professor, as well as NASA supporters who made themselves available in person and virtually) and keep in mind all the support and collective effort to successfully complete our project. We are interested in this challenge because of our affinity for creativity and the world of Games. We thank the collaborators already mentioned for all the encouragement and contribution to our project.

On April 28, 2021, during its eighth flyby of the Sun, Parker Solar Probe did what no other human-made object has ever done: it “touched” the Sun—meaning the spacecraft flew through the Sun’s upper atmosphere (the corona) and sampled particles and magnetic fields there. Your challenge is to develop a creative way to tell young audiences the inspiring story of Parker’s record-breaking journey from Earth to the Sun and all the perils it overcame on the way.
