Hi! Parker

High-Level Project Summary

To learn about the Parker Solar Probe, our team made an interactive game using Scratch, a program we are familiar with. We will first clarify the effect of the solar wind by guiding the player to click the buttons. After the section, there will be another game in which you could see two different choices, yes and no. Your mission is to click the correct answer in your mind. After that, the explanation of the question will bump out. The games we design could let the younger know better about the probe, and broaden their horizons. Within fun interaction, players could absorb the knowledge easier and faster. In addition, it is important to let more people care about the universe.

Detailed Project Description

Our team develops an interactive game using the Scratch program (blockly programming language). The game introduces the Parker Solar Probe in a storytelling way. During the game, players could learn knowledge about the major missions that the probe was assigned and the massive information that it brings back.

In the game, we will first clarify the effect of the solar wind by guiding the player to click the buttons. After the section, there will be another game in which you could see two different choices, yes and no. Your mission is to click the correct answer in your mind. After that, the explanation of the question will bump out.

The fun interactions our game contains could let the players learn more effectively. At the same time, people who do not know about the probe could gain basic knowledge easily.

We hope that the game could lead more people to care about our universe, the origin of life.

Hackathon Journey

It's our first time participating in a hackathon. Out of curiosity, our team chose the topic "On the way to the sun", wanting to know more about the man-made probe which was closest to the sun. Although joining the challenges is a big task for us, we still cooperate to finish the project. During the hacking, we discovered our passions for the unknown and our ability to collaborate.

We want to appreciate to the scientists who work for Parker and the whole universe. Thanks for their efforts in exploring the origin of life.
