Probe Venture

High-Level Project Summary

We developed an animation with the game using scratch to inspire young enthusiasts toward science because we wanted to encourage children to know about some of the basic facts about our nature and our achievements. We chose this topic as we liked reading about interesting topics. This topic was very fascinating and we had a good story writer among us, so we started looking at this topic as a perfect chance to inspire children at the same time to have fun studying this fascinating topic. We wanted to inspire children because young brains are very creative and at the same time also active, so the ideas coming from them would lead to a significant change in our view of science.

Detailed Project Description

This program is made from a coding platform named scratch (block coding).

We developed this to encourage the young enthusiasts about the journey of NASA’s Parker Solar Probe’s venture to the sun.

In the beginning, it shows why NASA started its venture to the sun.

Then the Rocket launch with the countdown is shown.

Then, a conversation between two scientists shows the scientists’ relief over the success of launching the probe into the sky.

Following the conversation between the scientists starts the game (dodge the meteors).

In this game, you should escape from the meteors attacking our probe.

Then, it explains how nothing happened to the probe though it did hit the meteors, ie. About Whipple Shield

Then, a scientist briefly talks about the event when the probe touches the sun for the first time.

Then the program shows the probe collecting information from the sun and broadcasting it to NASA

Space Agency Data

NASA inspired us by their information, skill, and knowledge

Also, Learn Many New things by doing this project because of NASA's WEB

There were many problems in our project/challenge but we did it with the information from NASA

We also got information from NASA'S YouTube Channel

Hackathon Journey

It was a great experience to be part of this hackathon organized by NASA. This was our first hackathon experience, and being part of this team gave us excellent knowledge of the Parker Solar Probe and information about the Sun and it was very fun to do. We got an opportunity to learn about a new tool called Scratch(a block coding software). We got the right person from Unique World Robotics, Mrs. Jithin Anu Jose, who guided us throughout this hackathon and gave us suggestions to improve our challenge work. Thanks to our school (St. Thomas Public School) for mentioning this challenge and thanks to Mrs. Jithin Anu Jose and Ms. Akhila R. Gomez, who gave us tips about this challenge.

This challenge would have been impossible to complete without this team. Each member had individual skills to make this achievable; we were good at storytelling, programming, editing, and sharing our thoughts. NASA resources also assisted us in learning a lot about the Solar Probe. We also had the aim of making this an interesting game for young explorers.
