Detailed Project Description

Mbongi is a web application serving as a resource portal to facilitate access to capacity building training in EO and remote sensing.

It is a user-friendly platform, allowing trainers and trainees to find the necessary information quickly and easily while tracking the quality of training provided and received, as well as information on institutes and universities.

We used DART as a code language, and open source image sites like freepik, pixabay and NASA's ARSET resources. For the design we used Adobe Illustrator software and for the database, we used Firebase.

Space Agency Data

The information contained at the level of the site of the space agency, allowed us in particular to have a first directory of links for the formations related to the EO and the remote sensing. It also inspired us to classify them by categories and to make available the earth observation dashboard.

Hackathon Journey

It's the first time for our country to take part in the Space Apps challenge. So we feel privileged to be the first ever participants of our Country and of the entire Central African region of the NASA hackathon. A wonderful experience meeting new people, coming together to find solutions to world saving challenges. We learned that everything is possible as long as we work together as a team. The wide possibilities Earth Observation can provide to leaders and decision makers around the world is what inspired our team to choose this project. Our team resolved setbacks and challenges by having a never give up spirit and on always thinking solutions can always be found when we work as a team. We would like to thank Mr Luc IBATA OKALOBE for giving us the opportunity to be part of such an amazing adventure.
